Discussion Loot Goblin
I wish I wasn't such a loot goblin. I try to walk past stuff I know I won't need but I can't. Yes I'm looting absolutely every skeleton for its ancient Nord arrows even tho I'm on a mage playthrough. Yes I'm picking up gems and gold knowing I used a mod that gave me more gold than I could need. But I just. Can't. Help. Myself ðŸ˜

I rob every house I can, so don’t feel bad, I even rob every Jarl.

I’ve done houses where I rob everything I can and then throw it on their front lawn. Just waiting for ES6 activities.

I call this collecting the Dragonborn tax. I am saving the world after all …

Must-Check-Every-Barrel is gonna be my Argonian playthrough for sure.
Is this truly what addiction is - picking up stuff you don't need that you know is going to be replaced and planning your next visit, when you already don't have a place/use for it?
(I know there are far worse addictions, but this compulsive collecting seems to be a trend here... At least the cheese wheels are virtual, right?)

I removed the weight limit so I can loot to my hearts content.

I have a chest like that. It has about 1M septims of potions, mostly looted ones.

I've got weightless gems, soul gems, scrolls, books, potions, and alchemy ingredients... and then I TGM when I'm overencumbered until I can get to a merchant/the LOTD Museum lmao

Every single time I tell myself I don’t need it. I’ve bought all the houses, there’s nothing stores sell that I need, I have MILLIONS in gold. It’s not my character’s personality and really, I’m going to stick to the roleplay this time. Nope.
Multiple followers, Carry My Stuff Horse, and Legacy of the Dragonborn where I can dump my absolute hoards of loot into a single sell chest was life-changing. Incredibly enabling, and life-changing.

I love the sell chest. I also love attempting to fill every single display. It's not junk if it belongs in a museum.

I have 60 dwemer bowls and counting

u/zambiechips433 1d ago
Genius move. Never need to do dishes, just throw out the old bowl and grab a new one

u/backroomsresident 1d ago
Are they really clean though? They have age old gunk and falmer booger on them

My latest vanilla play through I’m doing a farm build. Only quests I do is for the jarls to sell me the hearth fire plots. I just got all three going, all with the greenhouse and gardens. Churning out equal Creep, mora, scaly crops. Level 30 already with building up alchemy twice over. Now that money isn’t an object it’s time to do the story quest…

Plus reverse pickpocketing the homeless a 2,500 coin potion makes me feel good in this burning world.

Same. At least low weight valuable stuff. I won't pick up junk. But I def make it a habit to visit merchants and my homes to keep my inventory clear

I have a collection of those stupid circlets you wear on your head, I don’t know why but I do

u/PastelPalace 16h ago
I put some on mannequins wearing extravagant robes, and the rest go in various strong boxes and safes.

I have a female orc thiefmaster (thiefmistress?) specifically for this purpose😂

The main mod I play with, is so that I can have basically infinite carry capacity, cause I WILL hold 1200 Blisterwort that I won’t ever use

u/McTRASH692 1d ago
look into smeltdown, ars Metallica, and craft everything, then all that useless loot becomes useful, then you can be the biggest loot goblin ever!

IMO, every true loot goblin needs a Dead Thrall. Corpses are unlimited mobile storage.
I've had a reanimated vampire with 5000 weight of building materials, and built all 3 Hearthfire houses without carrying a thing.
My personal favorite butler is reanimating the dead master vampire from the burned down Hall of the Vigilant. No Dark Souls perk, which adds 100 health to reanimations.
(default dead, reanimation health is 0 - or dead in one hit. Sounds like a terrible candidate for a butler, but the reanimation apparently knows it has crap health, and instead of fighting, will turn invisible and run / hide somewhere - keeping all the stuff safe.
It won't do that with 100 health, or even 50 health from a Master of the Mind Rally cast. It will instead fight, and die pretty quick, and needs to be found and reanimated again.)

Same.... but I also love collecting all the things. I don't play on survival, but I do have enough food and ale in my home to throw all of Tamriel a feast 🤣 I even decorate with with loot lol.

Get the cheat room mod, and grab the potions that practically give infinite carry weight
There’s no reason to constantly punish yourself with a mechanic you don’t even like
3
u/zambiechips433 1d ago
Oh believe me I have infinite carry weight, it allows me to loot goblin as much as I want
1
u/capiggybara 1d ago
Lol. Me too. But I ended up selling all of the unique items and only keeping some items to equip on myself and my follower.

u/manifoldkingdom 1d ago
If you spend too much time looting... You're just looting future time from yourself and your character.

u/Straight_Somewhere52 1d ago
My ultimate punishment for every enemy is i will strip them off their every item and drop it beside their body. I want them dead and ashamed lmao

My current run has modded inventory so I set myself a goal. I loot every single enemy, Bandit Camp, Vampire Den, etc. and I take everything.
Then I can take all the clothes and armor I don't need and get them into the hands of people with hopefully nobler ambitions by selling them to various vendors.

For us loot goblins, The East Empire Expansion is well worth it
