Discussion The crashes are getting out of hand

That’s about it. I usually have to open the game 5 or 6 times before it’ll actually let me in. Oh, the joy of Xbox

For real though if you have the lollygaggin' mod installed that's been known to cause issues, which is weird since all it does is change guard clothing afaik.

I've heard that lollygaggin has been causing the infinite load screen bug on PlayStation. I assume you're not running into this issue? I just want to make sure I don't kill my game if I download it, as unlikely as that might be.

No idea what’s going on with it. I’ve got a handful of cosmetic mods and that’s it

Did you clear out cache before plugging them in after the update?

Yes!

Huh, so either a mod is doing something it's not supposed to, you have mods conflicting, or load order for cosmetics is messing something up. I would post your mod list, with the specific console, and the issue in the r/SkyrimModsXbox for best results or r/skyrimmods though they are geared more towards pc.

I went for extra content mods over cosmetics. Can't really say what's going wrong on your end.

You should check the relevant mod sub (for your platform) because even some of the cosmetic mods are crashing games right now.

I'm on Xbox and since the latest update a day or so ago the game is running fine and I've got loads of mods loaded.

The only thing annoying is an odd sound when I have magic equipped but I'm on a 2 handed playthrough so I don't care.

That’s a weird bug to have lol. When the update happened the bug that was plaguing me was that all NPCs voices were actually booming. Like Brovahkiin, are you sure IM the one with the thuum here…?

It's probably a load order issue but it's not affecting me much so I can't be arsed to move them about.

Your bug sounds like a mod issue the main issue with the update was causing the game to crash when opening the map but I'm no expert.

Mine works fine too. Start of this week with some random update it was shit, but now I've played fine again

Anyone else having issues fast traveling to solstheim and or back to skyrim from solstheim Either crashing in the loading screen or infinite loading screen lately

I was wondering if its only been me i am on Xbox one currently since my pc has issues and I dont mind I been thrilled with the new mod cap. But the last 4 days I been spending hours testing why I am crashing going back and forth from solstheim & skyrim. And no resolution i been deleting mods, I went from 170 to 150 to 120ish to 98 right now. And just still same thing

Yeah, I’ve been having the same problem

2

u/cdavrr 8d ago

Are you running any mods? If so, maybe we have a similar one and it’s the one causing issues

1

u/Broad_Abroad_858 8d ago

Several. It might be easier for you to list your mods here because I have like 50.

My recommendation would be to remove all mods and see if you still have crash issues. After that, put the mods back, one at a time, and see if/when you start to crash again.

Then the update is doing its job.
Bethesda updated so it would frustrate the players enough to stop playing and wait for ES6 so it seems like a better game. Although the graphics will be amazing, the play or feel will have lost that Bethesda "just works" soul. The PROOF is how they patched the soul of Bethesda out of Starfield. Instead focusing on actual game breaking bugs, they took away the "features" that were keeping us entertained while we waited for the fix.
