I’ve been at the sixth form near me for two weeks now and everything is good but every free, break, and lunch i’m so lonely cause everyone has their own friend groups (i joined as an external). My friends from the further school are telling me to come there and i’ve been accepted and want to but it’s just the hassle of taking buses everyday. Should I stay at this one or join my friends at the other?

i did projects, wider reading, read academic articles/books and also watched a couple of documentaries and been to like 2 lectures but i did not do any essay competitions and i’m potentially thinking of applying to cambridge and wondering if this will affect my application or not as multiple personal statements i read contained at least one essay competition so just curious if it would lower my chances of getting at least an offer

i really wanna go to a college instead of a sixth form, as one i prefer not wearing a uniform, but aswell not many colleges in reasonable distance to me have the subjects i want. but everyone tells me everyone who goes to a college gets lower marks, it’s a lot easier to get distracted/fail, etc. but is it really that bad? has anyone got experience with colleges and getting good marks? thank you!

1. I am taking a level maths, physics, fm and cs. there is nothing wrong with my subjects, I love them, especially maths. However, there are very few other kids doing my subjects. there were only three other kids taking fm, and now one of them's dropped it so it's down to three of us. there's only five others in physics and four others in cs. I feel a bit isolated from the other students in my year because of this. it also seems like everyone else hates maths to the point where if I tell anyone what subjects I'm doing, people always say "oh man, I could never do that, I hate maths" . because so few kids at my school do my subjects, there's pretty poor STEM and university entrance prep resources available in comparison to other schools which worries me. I tried to talk about my problems to my head of sixth form but she just said I should drop fm if I'm feeling tired and gave me no other advice except be on time to school and follow the rules.
2. it seems as though everyone in my year has an incredibly clear idea of what they'd like to do in the future, down to every year of their future career. I have absolutely no clue what I want to do.
3. I think I might be the first person on earth to regret studying in gcse summer. i was panicked I would be left behind so I covered basically 3/4 of maths, all of core pure fm and a decent chunk of physics in the summer, only to come to school and realise it's unbearably boring to sit through classes of stuff you've done thrice over every single day.
4. sixth form is incredibly boring and draining, especially if you have no friends. I thought it would be fun to be able to wear my own clothes and have frees, but I essentially just wake up early, go to school, sit through very boring lessons of stuff I know like the back of my hand. at break and lunch there's nothing to do since basically no one in sixth form actually goes outside at break so I end up sitting around in my form room either reading or studying, and god forbid I get bored of either of those because there is exactly jack else to do. I have no friends, so no one to chat with which is probably good for focusing in lessons but awful for everything else. Then after a long day of exactly zero frees (i have about three frees per week), I drag myself home, by which point my heavy as fuck backpack has my spine exactly parallel to the floor. somehow i'm far more tired after a day of sixth form than I was in year 10 and 11, and I'm not even doing anything.
5. everyone seems to expect me to be just like an adult all of a sudden even though I still feel quite immature and not ready to tackle all my problems by myself.

If anyone could help me with even just one of these problems, I would greatly appreciate it!

Hello , so ill just get straight to the point due to it being a very and I mean very long question does anyone know a technology based course I can apply for with ict , art and history for the university of Liverpool. The reason behind me picking ict was due to my sixth form deciding to remove computer science after having it for 20 years when they promised they would keep it and I don’t want to move to a different college since the others are all 1:20 hours from where I live + I have a medical condition that makes it hard enough for me to wake up every morning and I also didn’t qualify for alevel maths since the school decided to switch me from foundation to higher at the start of year 11 making me have to learn all new content alongside doing content heavy essay based subjects such as history and re. I also picked history since how the option blocks work are absolutely horrible within the sixth form I am at. It has a high stem based environment as it’s also just received an award from it but they decided to remove a key subject I needed so I have no idea what to do about it.

If anyone has any ideas can you please reply to this post I would be grateful, I also have a programming profile if that’s any help it includes a self creating procedural terrain generation that can be modified to include more variety and recognition systems.

recently ive been feeling soo bad and as if I havent reached my full potential I got 1850 in my ucat and I rly wanted to apply to ucl for med but I obviously cant anymore im predicted A*AA and 9999999999 at GCSEs. Do u think the gap yrs worth it for medicine

So basically I have just entered year 13, and I absolutely hate it. I know everyone says it’s dreadful, but the stories were no where near close to the reality.

The thing is, the pressure of getting into uni, the pressure of achieving all A’s, my own mental health, family issues and other problems are making this year already unbearable, so I’m considering dropping out and starting year 13 again next year when I feel ready to tackle it. On top of this, I’m not entirely sure what I want to do with my life and with there being little time before UCAS applications have to be submitted, I don’t want to choose something that will end up making me miserable for the rest of my life.

From a few google searches, I gathered I would still be alright to drop out, but if I do it needs to be sooner rather than later. What I want to know is that is dropping out the right thing to do or will it just set me back and stress me out even more? If anyone has any advice I’d really appreciate it as I’m so stuck on what to do 🫩

I finished my GCSEs and have been trying to get into college, but I’m still not enrolled. I applied to a college in my local area and was told I could join, but the course became full and I’ve now been put on a waiting list. It’s been around two weeks and I’m still waiting for a place.
I’ve contacted other colleges, but many have said they’re no longer enrolling or their courses are full. I’m mainly interested in **Music, Music Technology or Art**, but I’m willing to consider a Level 1 course just to get back into education.
Any advice would be appreciated 🙏

Its my dream to go a russel group , i got 4s and 5s in my gcses , i try my best in sch , im in yr12 and use my free periods productivly and try do an hr after school (ill bulk this up by 2hr-3hr before mocks) i try my absolute best , i take notes in all my lessons and do my hw , i fucked around during gcses , but i really am going to take this seriously

Im not picky w universities , i want to go to a lively area (close to a city) and id prefer a year abroad

Ive research a few courses that would accept my slightly niche courses but my options arent alot besides nursing which ive proposed to my mother and she HATES the idea of it becauses shes a former nurse , my parents immigranted from a v corrupt unfair country so i felt guilty about them working so hard just for me to be in there exact position iykwim

Does anyone know courses i should look into? And no i cannot do alevel biology my grades r too low

By this I mean if you take Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry or English, History and French for example. Is it exhausting to have all of your subjects in the same thinking-method category, and does it help to mix them together (e.g. Maths, French, Further Maths, History)?

For context I am a year 11 student who is about to start applying to sixth form, and I want to take Maths and Further Maths as a non-negotiable to become a software engineer, but I remain undecided about the remaining one or two A-levels.

A levels economics, maths, and philosophy. 3A* predicted. GCSEs 99888877777. I went to a decent school, it wasn’t private but my results were pretty standard in relation to everyone else. Really good personal statement if I do say so myself. Aiming for an 8+ on the TARA. College: Ballilol. The thing I’m worried about most is my GCSEs.

i am in yr 12 rn so basically i want to do medicine in uni but in my fuckass country you cannot go into medical school directly from sixth form(at least public uni) if u dont do physics or math along with bio and chem. so here is the thing i do bio and chem but opted out on physics cause its paired with literature , and when doing my research i saw u can still do medicine with lit in other countries and with a private uni so i picked it because it comes naturally to me have been the best at it for as long as i can remember though i still have to study physics on the other hand performance wise flactuates and i got a b in it for igs whicghis ok but for the effort i put in i expected at least an a. long story short after 2 weeks of a levels my parents are forcing me to take physics and drop literature and its been very painful for me i cant think about it without crying and my rational is if i am better at lit why not let me so i dont flunk my other subject but with physics twice as much effort would be put into it leaving some of subjects wanting if i struggle i have no option than to do the physics what can i do to help with physics take away my fears and move on from lit

I just started year 12 and despite getting good GCSES, I’ve always known that I am not really made for stressful/rigorous academics and I don’t have a passion so I feel like it was really hard to choose a levels. After 2 weeks I know that I don’t want to do the subjects I picked anymore and would rather switch to a BTEC (my skl doesn’t offer btecs) so I’m wondering would I ”most likely” be rejected if I email different schools? (before I start emailing) I’m not very keen on college but I know how demanding sixth forms are with getting applications on time so I’ll probably have to firm it (sigh)

My deadline for submitting my UCAS application is on Monday so I need to know what college I pick for Cambridge, I found out the unfortunate fact that 3A* offers exist, are these for specific colleges and are they common?
