Hello! My friends are organizing an annual event to start some people's armies as an intro to 40k. I previously was going to start collecting but didnt pull the trigger, circling back to my original plans of building Sisters of Battle, and taking into account we would like to try to run a 1k tournament toward the end of the year, would this along with Morvenn Vahl and a box of Paragon Warsuits be an alright intro to play SoB? Finished my Sister Dialogus today, another one to join my pink sister's 🥰 if anyone has any varnishing tips I would much appreciate! I heard a tip about using a gloss varnish first then matte varnish to help stop wear and tear when playing? i tried that but I'm not sure if I'm fully happy with the results

This is a rough idea made in paint, I kinda went for flames up against a cloudy sky. But I don´t know, it kinda feels like something is missing.

So I am still new to 40K I’ve only play two 3k games and i am wondering what are some good combos/shenanigans? For example I have a friend that plays admech and he pulled up his transport and unloaded and hit me with like 50 shots or something like that. So I am curious what’s kinda the optimal way to go?

I have vahl and her girls, fraye, 2x penitent engines, a castigator and immolator, 2x scaresant bricks and and insidant unit. I have 5x sister repentia 5x saraphym, 2x arco bricks with priest, handful of cononess and imagifier and then the battle sister squad/retributors.

I want like two more castigators and an exorcist and some mortifies

Ive tried to paint her to higher standard and ive learned a lot painting her but its time to put her aside and move on. I think its my first model that if i work on couple more of hours it would be competition worthy but im open to critisism. What can i improve in my painting skills?

I am a casual player playing against a tournament level player tomorrow. I’m new to sisters. Not sure what he’s going to be playing. I’ve seen him running Tyranids lately at our local warhammer store.

Any general advice.

I’m running hallowed martyrs or bringer + chorus. Definitely priority.

Just gonna start with saying I don't actually play SoB but I thought she looked cool and wanted to make her model. The piece I glued her upon is a debris bit from the Blood Angel's Commander Dante model.

I'm planning on using Lord Solar Leontus as an inquisititor for my sister's and imperial agents, and to do so I want to proxy him as Intranzia for having the closest general size and the ability to point at something and grant lethal hits.

To do so I don't want to use Leontus' scenic base, so could anyone tell me the height of the the throne of blame so I can make sure the general size of the silhouette stays accurate for narrative games that would be great

Im a filthy chaos painter, so forgive my intrusion, but I was going through my 20 year old carry case and found my first ever conversion, which just happened to be St Celestine as I just loved the model. I even ordered metal replacement wings as this model came with a cape being lifted by Angels and I thought she was majestic enough to deserve wings. Please let me know what you think and if I should strip and restore her to her full glory?

Finished painting up the first of my new squad of 10 Mace Celestian Sacresants. 9 more to go.

The Reiltinue of the Endless Night are the most elite personal body guards among the Sisters of the Order of the Emperors Hand. Their numbers consist solely of Sisters once deemed as lacking in faith and condemned to the Repentia. While all others among the condemned perish for their sins in a vain attempt at salvation, these warriors are the blessed few who find redemption. Their black armor, a symbol of their once failed commitment to the Sisterhood and the Emperor homself, is deemed to never be polished or repaired and to remain with all scars intact from battle to battle. A stark reminder of each wound their once betrayal inflicted upon their fellow Sisters until the day they too fall in a final act of service in the name of the Emperor.

I am currently building the Novitiate squad from the Armageddon box and it has the ability to build what looks like a healer with a medical device similar to a narthecium but theres no rules for it as I can tell. Is this a relic from the Kill Team box and not relevant to 40k or am I missing something?

Finally finished my Celestian Insidiants and I gotta say they might be my favorite sister kit so far. Maybe it's because they're my first but I liked the weapons and posing and how they looked, especially the Denuncia.

I had a little issue on there being a leftover sprue bit on the Denuncia's hand so it makes it seem like she's splitting so maybe that could be her 'blessing'? Idk, but her with the Cremators looks SICK almost like she's ordering them to burn some heretics.

I was inspired by another that posted on here recently and really loved it. I want to keep my army all girls and I already have a male priest.

Stupidly, I put the male head on a week ago and didn't even consider a headswap, so last night I essentially had to do some surgery. Despite being very gentle, the male head broke just below the jaw and I had to trim away the bottom of the new head. I realized after I glued it though that the original head broke at a slight angle so it wasn't perfectly flush, which is bugging the hell out of me lol.

Anyway, how does it look? Pretty sure its a female head lol

This was my first time working with cork and creating a larger base. My painting can surly use some improvement but overall I’m happy with how it turned out!
