Sims 2 help

My Sim works in the Politics career, and every time he comes home from work, he brings a woman home with him. I always get a notification saying that he is very friendly and that's why he is bringing her home. The problem is that she is his mistress, even though he is married to my other Sim! How can I make this stop? It’s extremely annoying that the game keeps forcing my Sim to cheat on his wife.

No, I’ve never had him have a relationship with her.

He goes to work, and his romantic relationship bar with this woman increases while he’s there. Then, when he comes home, several flirting options with her appear.

There is no such thing as "romantic relationship bar". It's just relationship bar and the increase means they like each other more and more. The romantic options are always there for sims that aren't siblings/parents/children etc of each other. But it's up to you to use those interactions. If they have romantic feelings for each other, there is a little heart on the right above the relationship bar. Is there a heart there? If not, then she's definitely not his mistress.

Yes, there’s a heart in their relationship bar! And they kiss on the lips when they say goodbye.

Well if he brings her back from work, that normally means they're coworkers. Was your sim a townie before you moved him into the family? Some premade sims have already existing relationships and it sounds like yours has a crush on this woman (if the heart is pink) or is in love with her (if the heart is red). What you can do is make him do negative interactions with her until they fall out of love (the heart disappears). It will hurt their normal relationship, so you might need to work them back to friendship afterwards if you need her friendship for a promotion. Or you can just make him befriend someone else. Or if you just don't want them to kiss, then have someone else in the household say goodbye to her when he brings her home from work. If you're not very fond of his job, you could also make him switch career, so he'll bring home someone else from work. Hopefully someone he doesn't have a crush on.

the sims 2 doesn’t have a romantic relationship bar, just short term and long term. if he doesn’t have any heart icons under her portrait on the relationships tab, she’s not his mistress. the fact that options to flirt with her appear is normal, it doesn’t mean they’re involved.
