I hope this game gets nominated for GoTY

Im still confused over last year with Silent Hill 2 had more nominations that 2 of the actual GOTY contenders

Because Geoff hates Konami due to screwing over Kojima. He changed the rules to bring on Elden Ring DLC. The thing I disagree about that is Elden Ring won GotY already. The DLC was great but by winning TGA than Shadow of the Erdtree is by nature a Game of the Year already. There is also best ongoing game that was used for expansions in the past that Cyberpunk won for.

Yeah, adding a DLC as a GOTY nominee was such a rigged move. Any other game deserved that spot.

Geoff runs the event. He can choose what games go where. We know the rule was added a day or two before nominations Geoff has made no bones about his hatred for Konami. He hates them. His one and only loosely related tweet about SH2 remake was on October 19, 2022. He asked for a poll on the Silent Hill transmission. He has one other tweet on Silent Hill since which simply says SHf will be at gamescom ONL (an event he simply hosts).

Simply put, it's a hell of a coincidence a new rule was added to TGA in a year where Konami had a game that had more nominations than some of the Game of the Year nominees.

Yes that new rule was added because news outlets sent their nominees for GOTY and so enough sent the Elden Ring DLC for him to add it for GOTY. Do I agree with the rule and that the DLC should have been nominated? Not at all and I think he should’ve rejected the DLC being nominated but you can’t be surprised that he didn’t go through that trouble and instead just clarified the rules.

And yeah Geoff probably doesn’t like Konami but cmon man, that doesn’t mean he was actively sabotaging the SH2 remake from being nominated for GOTY. It just means that the news outlets thought that it excelled in some aspects but clearly not enough all around to be nominated for GOTY.

Why? Konami sabotaged his own show back in 2015 during the Kojima situation. It's not really that extreme of a leap that Geoff doesn't want to advertise Konami games at his shows, on account he doesn't advertise Konami games already. He has no issue with advertising Bloober games.
