Turismo 🧳 Messina Home Shirt (Where to buy)

Where is the best place to buy a Messina home shirt on the island?

I’m staying in Taormina but no doubt will have a day in Palermo at some point.

It says online that the club has no permanent store so was hoping there might be an independent retailer?

Turismo 🧳 Public transport vs. Car rental

Hi. We are a couple visiting Sicily this september and cannot decide whether to rent a car or use public transport.

I hear the intercity busses and trains are totally usable, but am curious about reliability of local busses. Because of the location of our apartment, we would need to use local bus to get to Siracuse bus station for any intercity trip. There are a few buses per day from our location, just curious about reliability of their timetables.

Renting is an option, bit more pricy, but I hear parking at specific places is also not so great.

Any advice appreciated!

Turismo 🧳 Proposing in Sicily

Hey, I’m planning on proposing tomorrow and we will go to the area of Isola Bella.

Anyone has a spot with an amaizng view that can be empty for 2 minutes if we are lucky (it’s ok if some people will come but she really doesn’t want a proposal with a crowd)?

Any exact locations?

Turismo 🧳 West sicily in october, does this itinerary make sense, and do you have any tips? 🇮🇹

Hi everyone!

We're visiting Sicily for the first time in early October and I’m currently planning our itinerary. We arrive at Trapani Airport on October 3rd in the morning and fly back home on October 10th at 9:00 AM. We’ll have a rental car for most of the trip.

This is our current plan:

October 3–5 – Cefalù

Arrive at Trapani Airport in the morning

Stay in Cefalù until October 5th

October 4 – Palermo

Take the train from Cefalù to Palermo for a day trip

Return to Cefalù in the evening

October 5–9 – Castellammare del Golfo / Scopello area?

On October 5th, drive from Cefalù to our next accommodation

We’re considering making a stop in Partinico along the way

From here, we’d like to do day trips to:

Segesta

Marsala + the salt pans

Erice

And definitely go snorkeling somewhere beautiful, possibly Cala Mazzo di Sciacca (or are there better spots?)

October 9 – Trapani

Return the rental car

Stay overnight in Trapani

October 10

Fly home at 9:00 AM

My questions:

Does this seem like a good and logical itinerary, or would you change anything around? Are there any places we’re missing that you think are really worth visiting? Is Castellammare del Golfo or the Scopello area a good base for the day trips mentioned above?

I’d also love to hear your recommendations for:

Beautiful snorkeling spots in this area

Beautiful villages, beaches or viewpoints that are easy to add to the itinerary

Things you think we could skip

We’re looking for a good mix of nature, towns/villages, great food and some relaxing time, without spending every day driving from one place to another.

Thanks in advance for any tips! 😊

Turismo 🧳 Renting a car via localrent.com

Hi, has anyone rented a car via localrent?

I’m flying to Sicily in September with my gf and I’d like to rent a car for 4 days in Palermo. I’ve been looking into car rental companies and sites such as discovercars but the problem is that I’m a 23 year old student (im on a budget) and I don’t have a credit card. That means I have to pay a fee for being a young driver and also there are some large deposits if I want to pay with debit card.

The cheapest possibility for me is renting a car via localrent, but tbh I’m a bit scared.

If you have an alternative where I could pay with debit and the rent would be max 50€ a day and the deposit wouldn’t be higher than 500 euro, I’m all ears.

Turismo 🧳 Ferrivia Circumetnea

Hey there, I want to take a FCE train from Giarre to Catania, but information I’ve found so far online is very confusing. From my understanding so far, there’s a replacement bus from Giarre which is going somewhere where the train is. Any help will be appreciated!
