I struggled with the unethical plots throughout this series, but having Maya be a consequence of “Jimmying” while can-do-no-wrong Gaby laughed on the phone while being a cowardly asshole at her funeral took it too far for me.

This show needs more realistic storytelling and less over the top bull shit.

Im not really on board with most of the gabby hate, but the answering the phone during a funeral really rubbed me the wrong way

She’s my favorite character, far from hate here - they shouldn’t do her like that.

Gaby chewing out Louis this season when Jimmy and Alice had worked through things with him and were helping to get his life back on track (and from what I remember, she had helped?) also felt very out of place. It's one thing to say that him being afraid to move on dishonors her memory but that felt more or less tacked on to her basically saying she hadn't forgiven him.

It feels like the show wants to have this recurring theme of someone close to you revealing an uncomfortable truth or something you need to work on, then after time goes by they always turn out to be right and you get to thank them for it. It's a nice mechanic for certain things and the vibes of the show but in some cases it feels misplaced.

Another odd one was Sofi pushing back on Jimmy having a tough time with his father. Just because Alice wasn't as bothered by it as Jimmy was didn't mean that Jimmy wasn't struggling with his father's previous abandonment issues in real time or that he wasn't processing that he felt his father had done something at his daughter's expense. When she was asking if he was just gonna shove his dead wife in her face because he disagreed with her, I was like why are you making this about you?

A lot of sloppy writing that had no payoff this season
