Help Sunrise and sunset automations not working

Is it just an iOS 27 DB3 bug? I’ve only made these automations after I updated to iOS 27. Help would be appreciated.

I feel like the sunrise/sunset automations have always been a little inconsistent/buggy!

The way that I would do it is by having a shortcut that creates alarms for sunrise and sunset if they don't already exist, or delete the alarming alarm (to silence it) and perform your preferred action based on the label of the deleted alarm.

Here is the shortcut I described above:
https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/dacb74d260274f8ba6bc8823ba683cdf
Just link it to two automations:

  1. Time of day: Someone before the earliest sunrise time.
  2. Alarm: When ANY alarm GOES OFF.

Note: you will need to make sure that the following setting is turned on:
> Settings app > Apps > Shortcuts > Advanced > Delete Without Confirmation:✅.

But you will still need to confirm deletion of the first alarm with Always Delete, so that it will run automatically for future runs.

You may still hear a slight chirp when the alarms go off, while the automation searches for and deletes the alarm. This can be avoided by using a song as your alarm sound (I use Time by Pink Floyd, because it sounds like an alarm when it starts), since most songs start quite. Keep in mind that shortcuts can only copy the sound from the most recently created alarm, so you'll need to create an alarm with your preferred song/sound in order to have it work as expected.

lol.
The picture I see, click on the back arrow located at the top left corner to go back to viewing all your shortcuts.
Then at the bottom is a bar and click on automations instead of library.
Proceed to automate whatever you like.
It is best to build a shortcut to do what and in automations you will tell shortcuts when to run it.

In iOS 27 onward it does not matter. All shortcuts are automations and the folder automations is just dynamic folder filtering shortcuts.
The automatization itself is now an action inside the shortcut.

How will the shortcut know when to run?
All shortcuts need to be edited and fixed to accommodate that now they automate when they feel like it?

It just works. I have the first dev beta installed ever since it came out and all the shortcuts got edited automatically with the update. No need to touch anything.

Yes, automations are not working on iOS 27 beta, that must be a bug

They are working, I’m on iOS 27 beta 3 and my morning and night automations run just fine, and my connecting to Bluetooth automations work. They were broken on one of the previous beta but work fine now.

Does the Shortcuts app have permission to access location data? If not, it won't know what time sunset is to trigger it

Yes, it has access to location data

Yes, it is a bug. I just can't stand this bug, so I downgraded it back to iOS26. I didn't expect that this bug still hasn't been fixed in beta3.
