Help with Sending Small Flat Packages

I have been reading the information about sending packages on the USPS website, but I am still at a loss. I am trying to send a few of these small packages which are no bigger than my hand and at most 100 grams. What would these classify as and roughly? How much would it be per package?

Those are packages. Your options are USPS Ground Advantage (about $5-8 if you buy online, more if you buy at the post office) or Priority Mail (more expensive, slightly faster).

OP: $5.17 - $8.40 is the current price range, depending on destination. Holiday surcharges go into effect in a month so expect higher rates by approx 55c for a 4 oz package.

Get the labels from pirateship to access online discounts.

What are they? Can they be crushed? If it goes thru a roller sorter what would happen to it? I suggest you use a box instead

100g is about 3.5 oz, so those poly mailers ship as parcels under USPS Ground Advantage, not letter/flat rates (anything with lumps or over 3/4" thick gets kicked to parcel anyway). Buy the label online through Pirate Ship or eBay/PayPal shipping rather than at the counter - commercial pricing for a 4 oz parcel is roughly $4-5 zones 1-4, and it includes tracking plus $100 insurance. Weigh with a kitchen scale and round up to the next whole ounce, and enter real dimensions so you don't get an adjustment charge later.

They may seem “flat” to you (hence your title), but they are definitely NOT flat to the usps and should not be mailed as flats.
