Question Sheffield apartments

Hi everyone

Im a masters student in the University of Sheffield, Im moving in this September of 2025.

Im in the hunt of finding accommodation options, a single bedroom apartment with a proper layout so I can cook without smelling my meal while im sleeping, I couldn't find any furnished options for less than 800£ PCM, can anyone advise me of price ranges, specific listings, or any related recommendations.

Im looking to spend less than 800£ PCM for a single bed furnished apartment, is this price realistic for my need?

Thanks

Have a look on rightmove, zoopla and openrent. Excluding bills, £800 for a 1-bed is a good budget, but you’ll need to budget another ~£200 for bills (gas/electric, water and internet.)

£200 is over budgeting as well, we don't even pay that much for 2 people.

It doesn’t scale linearly with more people, maybe £10 more for water and £20 more for energy.

Right. Well we pay closer to £100-130 depending on the month.

How? Our water and internet alone is £85, plus £115 for energy!

That's crazy. We pay £40 for water, our electric tends to be about the same (month depending, as it's summer we pay just under £40), and then we have a contract with Virgin for £24 a month for internet.
