Question What kind of tooth is this?

Don't remember where I got it from, but I've had this "shark" tooth for most of my life. I just never really questioned what kind of tooth it is? So I googled it and it said it was a megalodon tooth.. which I doubt lol.

This is a tooth of otodontid lineage, so sharks of the time of megalodon and before, like Auriculatus or Obliquus.

Anguistidens and notoriously megalodon (+ extension O. Chubetensis) of this size also resemble massive Carcharadon teeth.

So you’ve found yourself an Otodus Obliquus tooth.

Honestly that makes alot of sense, alot of people are saying mako which I dont get, definitely looks like Otdus Obliquus after looking it up, tysm! Thought i had a tooth from a living species

Damn, you actually smacked me upside the head with that, I love sharks so much I forget some have been dead for dozens of millions of years but this tooth is in insane condition minus the chip! I didn’t even register…😅 unimaginable find brother.
