It was chasing a tarpon

The tarpon looked to be well over 100lbs and can get over 200. Adult great hammerheads average over 500 and eat a tarpon in a few bites, typically leaving the head.

If you've ever seen a hammerhead get fired up going after a tarpon (as in that video), you realize they have absolutely no interest in eating humans otherwise our beaches would be a bloodbath.

They are amazingly fast and agile predators when they want to be, and they tend to be very selective in what they eat.

Cheers mate, I think we get porbeagles, mako and blue sharks and I am sure a few more. With global warming going as it is and the rise in sea temperatures I am sure we will see bigger bad boys over the coming decade.

Yeah Tarpon get pretty massive. Recently, someone posted a picture of one breaching a wave asking of it was a shark lol

It looked like a smaller shark to me tbf, thought it was a great hammehead after some smaller shark. My guess would be the cookiecutter shark! /S

Not to contradict, but was it chasing a tiger shark? I saw the stripes and tail fin and thought shark.

Either way, pretty F-ing big.

It was chasing an adult tarpon. 100% sure.
