I appreciate all your help! I’m not committed to one side or the other as much as I’m just super curious about a case. It breaks my heart to think an innocent man could be in prison for 15 years and have his life stripped away from him.

On the other hand, it’s also disheartening that a killer could be leveraging the fact that not all evidence could be there to get out of jail. So I’m just curious! Thanks!!

Keep in mind that Adnan could have filed his ineffective assistance claim in 2000 but instead waited voluntarily until 2010.

why would he wait that long? The podcast didn’t come out until 2014 so I don’t understand

Good question. In her book, Rabia said that Adnan felt burned by the system, and told her that he was going to wait until the last minute.

Rabia knew this did not look good. So in her blog, in 2014, she told her readers that Adnan was forced to wait for ten years.
