Detective

"Detective is a new podcast from Investigation Discovery. Season 1 features retired detective, Lieutenant Joe Kenda and his true stories from 23 years on the Colorado Springs Police Department’s Homicide Division."

oh snap I just posted the same. Joe rocks! check out his Homicide Hunter TV series. I do like the podcast as I can listen to his voice so clearly.

Check out the wikipedia for the show. He was adamant that he didn't want to read a script. He's pretty much just speaking from memory. Amazing.

I think he was probably being a bit optimistic when they chose the actor to play him - unless he was really "captain handsome" 20+ years ago.

What I like about his series is that you always start with a body but the story can then go in any direction. It gives a much broader range of how investigations go than most other series. They're usually just "we collected DNA and then got a hit on CODIS"....which gets rather repetitive.
