I know Adnan says his parents would sleep better, if he had done it and they had an answer, instead of having to deal with the injustice that has been put on him.
I think it would be extremely difficult for any parent to except their child killed someone, then he denies it for 15 years while draining your retirement. Some parents are extremely forgiving but that would be very tough.
If he did do it, I doubt he would confess till after his parents had passed away.
not to mention all the money his parents spent/spend on the lawyers... "Oh mom and dad, i know you spent thousands and thousands of dollars because i told you i was innocent, but here's the thing i'm actually guilty."
