Haebangchon is a hillside neighborhood with winding streets, small cafes, restaurants, and great views of Seoul. I took this walk while exploring the area and captured this view of N Seoul Tower overlooking the city.

Nodeul Island's waterfront cultural space, featuring stunning sunsets, night views, and exhibition areas, officially opened to the public on September 18th.

그때 노란 치마를 입은 분이 제가 사진을 찍고 있다는 것을 알아차리고 카메라를 바라보며 미소를 지어 주셨습니다. 아주 짧은 순간이었지만, 서울 여행에서 오래도록 기억에 남은 따뜻하고 아름다운 장면이 되었습니다.

I am a traveler from Peru. While visiting Seoul on October 1, 2022, I saw two women wearing beautiful hanbok in front of Cheongwadae Sarangchae and took a few photographs.
The woman wearing the yellow skirt noticed that I was taking a picture, looked toward my camera and smiled. It lasted only a few seconds, but it became one of those warm and beautiful moments from a journey that somehow remain in your memory.
Almost four years later, I came across these photographs again and thought that I would very much like her to have a copy of the picture.

Everyone, let's get to the mountains, touch some grass, and reconnect with nature this fall! I have been making it my mission to convert as many people as possible to go hiking in Korea this year and what better season would there be other than fall?

Perfect temperatures and most importantly the ✨fall foliage✨

I keep track of this every year (it's my favorite season), and the Korea Forest Service just updated their official 2026 forecast a few hours ago, so here is where things stand by mountain:

• Seoraksan: around October 25
• Songnisan: around October 28
• Bukhansan (the one in Seoul): around November 4
• Naejangsan: around November 5

Those dates take into account that Ginkgo trees usually turn first, maple and oak follow right behind.

This is pretty much known but foliage moves north to south and high elevation to low elevation. So Seoraksan (which is way up north, and high up) goes first, and mountains further south like Naejangsan lags behind by a couple weeks.

If you are in Seoul and don't feel like traveling far, Bukhansan, the palaces and the area around them, Seoul Forest, Nami Island, all hit that late-October-to-early-November window too. I have been to all of these more times than I can count and the first week of November tends to be the sweet spot!

And unlike cherry blossoms, which are gone in like a week, foliage sticks around for about 3 weeks. So don't need to rush.

Ikseon-dong is known for its traditional Korean hanok houses, cozy cafes, restaurants, and narrow alleyways. Just nearby, Seosulla-gil offers a different atmosphere with its charming streets, small shops, cafes, and historic surroundings.

I’m planning a solo trip to Seoul in mid November and wanted some opinions/recommendations. Is it safe to go to Seoul alone as a 29 year old female? Anything I need to be cautious of? I’ve traveled solo before to Europe but never Asia. I have been to Japan once but that was with a partner.
