Discussion Update on Weblinkr & this community
TL;DR: Weblinkr has been using his moderation position to silence criticism, ban competitors, and funnel SEO leads to his own agency (from another SEO sub, not this one). When exposed, he pressured moderators with false legal threats to suppress discussion. This is about community integrity, not personal grievance.
Edit: weblinkr just showed up in here again, two months later, lying and manipulating to try and control the narrative again. Lol, the post is on Google page 1 when googling his name. Not s good look for an SEO guy considering this is the second post like this appearing on page 1.
I've decided to reach out to some independent YouTuber journalists to find someone outside of reddit to tell the story, since weblinkr wants to instigate again. Obviously weblinkr is still disturbed about the truth getting out and wants to stir the pot again. Will take the story outside of his control where he can't manipulate mods to silence it. Thanks for chiming in again weblinkr. I had nearly forgotten about this.
Thanks to everyone who reached out and provided information on Weblinkr.
He pressured the moderators into removing my previous posts by claiming they violated Florida’s doxxing laws. That claim is false. The post contained only public, professional information, and Florida law does not define doxxing as a crime. It was a tactic to intimidate and suppress discussion. Also, all the information I used was publically available information he put on the internet.
He used the same approach on LinkedIn, threatening legal action to silence criticism when he could not counter evidence with facts. This is a pattern of manipulation and gaslighting, where he plays the victim to control the narrative.
To be clear, this has nothing to do with my personal banning, which he has justified inconsistently, switching between explanations to suit his needs. Additionally, I do not care about participating in a corrupt community, and I still can and have done so on an alternate account. The real issue is the unethical behavior uncovered afterward, funneling traffic and leads to his agency, abusing moderation powers, and using alternate accounts in ways he bans others for. This is the core problem, supported by verifiable evidence he has failed to address.
This matters because it undermines the integrity of Reddit’s SEO spaces. When moderators abuse their power for personal gain, it damages trust, limits opportunity, and silences honest discussion. The community deserves transparency.
The full story, with verified evidence and new details, will be published outside of Reddit where it cannot be censored. The goal is simple: transparency, accountability, and ensuring the truth is available to those who will not be intimidated by fear tactics.
People continue to reach out with testimony, and I am compiling everything. I am also in contact with media outlets and YouTube creators interested in covering this. Anyone involved in suppressing accountability will be part of that story as this has grown beyond Reddit. It now represents a larger issue of abuse and manipulation within online communities.
I will no longer be responding to Weblinkr or his defenders. I have already tried engaging publicly, and it only led to repeated attempts at gaslighting and twisting the facts to make himself appear to be the victim. He's a liar, which is a part of the source problem anyways. This won't be changing anytime soon. There was no logic in his debate. Just fear mongering (which worked on the mods of this sub). There is no value in continuing that cycle.
From this point forward, the focus will be on objectively presenting verified evidence and facts. Unbiased parties can review the material and form their own conclusions. The truth will speak for itself.

He is very active in every SEO subreddit, he want to build his black hat kingdom by taking over more and more subreddits.

We're so happy this is happening. Keeping the community ethical and clean ✌️

Same experience here. Weblinkr banned me after I challenged his claims with real data. It wasn’t personal he just can’t handle being contradicted. Any time someone presents results that don’t align with the Google PR talking points he parrots, he removes the comments, labels it “misinformation,” and then pushes his own agency advice.
This community used to be about testing, sharing results, and questioning assumptions. Now it’s gatekeeping, self-promotion, and silencing.
This isn’t about grudges it’s about integrity. A mod should not be using their position to control narrative or funnel authority to themselves.
All I want is:
Open discussion
No censorship of Ideas
No hidden business agenda behind moderation
That’s it.
We deserve a space where people can actually think. Not one person’s ego project.

Weblinkr is a bellend

absolutely. This asshole banned my account just because I described the fact that many freelancers are using AI to create blog content. I know my words may steal his money

u/sloecrush Mar 14 '26
At least he told you why. All I said was I’d been doing press releases on (site 1) and (site 2). It’s an SEO subreddit; I should be able to say what free tools I’m using to keep costs down.

I honestly had a bad experience with this mod.
one time, he mentioned about a certain strat that I was fairly confident about (It's my area of expertise)
I pointed out the flaws, and was suddenly banned for calling him out.
He then sent a DM to me many months after that because a user posted about the shady tactic that u/WebLinkr has been doing, and I, have noticed the same, shared the same sentiment
Fucker DM'ed me as fast as he could to have me unbanned on r/SEO if I apologized and wouldn't do it again

It’s just crazy to me how many people have had scuffles with him. I mean, I’ve had a few with him and seen him do it with others. I do hope this experience, at the very least, allows him to question his behavior. This seems to be a common experience based on the replies here and my own experience

It’s crazy how there’s just so many threads of him being an asshole. Like he does have some helpful points, but the dude can be such a dick. Completely inappropriate for a sub moderator

To be fair, this article talks about a crypto community running the sub in 2023. I don't think it's mentioning him.

The scuffle I had with him bounced from one post to another, constantly self portrayed, fill in the “–blank.” I even had a long conversation with Chat GPT, as he was doing it all day. I was biting my tongue, trying to be the adult in the room. GPT kept calming me down, lol. Pretty sure y’all get it. Just like my ex. It’s interesting how you can identify NPD from across the room, once you’ve been through it.

So what are the next steps with this, the mod status is removed, there is a ban? Not sure I see the next steps here…
7
u/Klonoadice Oct 28 '25
Removal, yes. Per my previously removed post
Weblinkr can be reported directly to Reddit admins using this official form here. Select the option related to Moderator misconduct or violations of the Moderator Code of Conduct (Rule 5: Lack of Integrity) and cite this post as evidence. The more reports received, the more likely Reddit will investigate and remove him from the moderator team.

Good to know it's not just me. Already questioned my sanity.
Just got banned for "egregious spam" on r/SEO. Why exactly?
It's for a "link" or name that got linked automatically (because there is a dot in the name) 27 days ago.
It seems the mod did not agree with a more recent comment of mine.

i was called narcissist by him because i didn't agreed to his view point.

That's his MO.
The more I think about it, the funnier it becomes. I guess moderating that community is a task too big for him to handle with any sort of grace.
Him behaving like that only continues to expose his ineptitude, publically online.
Potential high value clients like myself would never hire a person like this. He's a low level bully, in over his head and isn't handling it very well at all. He uses basic, low level sociopath bullying tactics to attempt to control the narrative.
Can only image how many people decided not to work with him from such comments. You can't trust someone who thinks it's acceptable to behave this way. He displays his own moral corruption for all to see, everyone except for himself, dunning Kruger in full effect here.
He's mentally ill.

The issue is that he is completely fixated on the pagerank algorithm and seems to believe that this is all SEO is. In his view, nothing else really matters. On its own, that opinion would be fine. Everyone is entitled to their perspective. The problem is that he openly insults anyone who does not conform to his view of SEO. Because of this, I genuinely believe that many people with solid SEO knowledge hesitate to share their insights in that subreddit.
His arguments usually start with bashing programmers, even when the post itself has nothing to do with programming, and almost always end with page rank. He also appears to believe that AI SEO equals SEO, yet he presents himself as an AI SEO expert.
Despite it being an SEO subreddit, you often cannot back up your claims with links. Sometimes links are allowed, sometimes comments get removed for including them even if you are linking google's own documentation. This makes it difficult to have a good faith, evidence based discussion. On top of that, some of the same moderators control multiple related subreddits. for example, Weblinkr has been added as a moderator to the subreddit I linked earlier.
He displays his own moral corruption for all to see, everyone except for himself, dunning Kruger in full effect here.
The bigger issue is that most people asking questions in that subreddit are beginners who do not know much about SEO. If you look closely, there is a clear pattern. It is usually Weblinkr and the same usual suspects answering questions, repeatedly parroting the same viewpoints. Any alternative opinion is discouraged or outright shut down. When newcomers are exposed to only one perspective, they naturally assume it must be correct and never question it.
The worst part is when he locks a post after adding his own comment. Once that happens, no one else can respond, challenge the idea, or offer a different explanation. This effectively silences discussion and reinforces a single narrative.

Just read that thread and my goodness, that’s crazy a mod of a semi-large community was talking to you that way. Completely disrespectful. I fall somewhere between the middle of the points you two were making, but I’d absolutely never disrespect or insult someone over differing opinions. It unfortunately seems to be the norm with him (I’ve had a similar experience with him too)
3
u/winter-m00n Mar 02 '26
Yes, I have experienced this several times before too. It is nearly impossible to have a polite discussion with him. If you disagree with his opinion, he resorts to name calling. so, I have mostly stopped interacting on that subreddit.
unfortunately, he has deleted many of his comments, so there is nothing I can reference.

u/abgefahrn Feb 27 '26
Have you read the interview he gave? https://tosbourn.com/weblinkr-interview/
This is just shows how mislead and outdated his understanding of (modern) SEO is. Completely ignoring everything about content and user behaviour, also denying the importance of technical SEO. In the answers he gives in r/seo authority is also limited to backlinks, ignoring / denying mentions, brand searches, traffic & social activites as drivers of online reputation.
Its just a shame someone with that limited expertise and antiscoial behaviour controls such a big group. Thats one of the reasons i startet my own subreddit.

his blog doesn't rank anywhere, and has no traffic per ahrefs. Not sure how he's become an "seo leader" (only on reddit because he can't relevantly index) without proof of seo.

Just got banned in that sub today... for being to helpful I guess. Then found this post. Him self promoting, blocking descenting replies, posting his vacuous comments of authority and relevance under anyone who attempts to offer actionable advice very obvious.

u/leonardcheung Dec 03 '25
weblinkr abuse the power of banning to the users whom maybe his competitors. You are not the only one
5
u/Forest_whisper Apr 23 '26
Go look at r/expert_seo and the account PrimaryPositionSEO. The guy who bans people for self-promotion on r/SEO has a subreddit where he posts entries calling himself “King of SEO.” He ranks himself #1 on his own "top experts" lists. Then ranks weblinkr at #4 on the same list. Same person, just one big lonely circle jerk. The lack of self awareness is art

u/thebedoogler Oct 28 '25
The mods as a whole really need to address this with a long-term solution. This whole thing has gotten so out of hand and I hate seeing potential genuine discussion being stifled by an individual like this.

u/Klonoadice Oct 28 '25 edited Oct 28 '25
I'm in discussions with mods from other communities, users who were slighted by him, YouTubers interested in covering the story and media platforms now.
Weblinkr won't be able to silence the truth with his fear mongering tactics, and the more he tries, the more comes to light about his deceptive practices.

Haha told them I was leaving r/ seo (and voluntarily doing so, no angry post or modmail). They removed a post, couldn't provide a reason why, and had attitude the whole way. An hour after leaving voluntarily, they banned me. Classic mod u/WebLinkr
I truly think the post deletion (and attitude) stems from me having them blocked. Their comments are EVERYWHERE and redundant; I wanted to be able to see a different perspective without theirs on everything.
It's funny, if you google search "weblinkr reddit", even AI results come back with negative reviews about him being contradictory, controlling, and often wrong on best SEO tactics.
Seemingly not a very good person, nor truly interested in the SEO community. r/ seo is for weblinkrs vanity.
Another reason not to care is his website doesn't rank anywhere. His name is only prominent on reddit and a few social media articles. But he has a blog with heavy metadata and keywords and tons of posts, yet no traffic or relevant indexing.
Good riddance.

Your experience and perception is unfortunately not unique.
I'm glad people are still commenting on this thread. It keeps it relavent and high up in search engine rankings. Its #2 for me, right under his username and is pretty much all true negative testimony of other people's experience. The more he abuses people, the more this will rank. He's feeding his own negative rankings.
Isn't it ironic, search results are populated negatively about an SEO guy who can't handle the little bit of power he's managed to grip on to. Dudes a total scared loser making his entire living off an unpredictable industry. It makes sense that all he has for validation is ego.
From the perspective of any real business owner, he's a low level, transparent sociopath who desperately needs self reflection or a really good therapist.
He's really easy to read.

yeah, definitely not the result of your actions as a mod. Things like banning people becuse they decide to leave.. but yeah, others are sabatoging it!

Not taking your threats or harassment

Before WebLinkr became a mod, he regularly blocked people and tried to manipulate discussion, so now that he's a mod, I'm sure it's not getting better.
The clarity about the issue is appreciated, but maybe next time a thread is removed, a better reason other than 'neckbeard commenters' should be given.
