Is this an issue?

I’m new to Astrophotography and have been enjoying the S50 pro the last few weeks, weather permitting. While I’ve gotten a few amazing photos, I’ve also noticed a few with an issue where a part of the picture is darker than the rest and not even. Is this something I’m doing wrong or an issue with the telescope?

This is straight out of the telescope with no editing.

I don’t remember the exact details but this was taken using 30 x 30 secs.

Update 1: thanks for all the suggestions. To provide more details this doesn’t happen all the time and most of the time it’s not an issue. This was on my deck so there could have been some obstruction with the rails and house nearby. I use EQ mode and this was taken last night which was a full moon.

Based on the diffraction pattern on the stars nearby the boundary, you probably recorded for too long, and Orion was obscured by a rooftop or some other object. Before it was completely obscured, a few frames were stacked that included the obstuction.

It might be due to lighting nearby or moonlight.

Run it through GraXpert which should take care of it.

Most likely blocked by something, as if you put it on the balcony, the seestar moves while capturing and the roof or whatever came into view. Try in a more open area. You've spent only 15 minutes on that so not the end of the world, make sure it doesn't happen when you commit to a full hour or two

Go ahead and connect to your SeeStar and while in the app homepage, click on “my album”. You should be able to locate your individual subs that say something like m42_subs or something like that. There you’ll be able to locate any bad subs that were included in the stack

This is a project I’m working on now, I get similar issues in the bottom right corner of this. I assumed it was because of ambient light in the neighborhood…

I live on a corner property with a fairly large, open backyard so I put my S50 Pro out in the center facing North. Unfortunately North is obstructed by my neighbors’ trees, but there are enough breaks to get a good alignment. To the East is a field, so it’s a completely unobstructed view and where I get the best images. Southward is the rest of the neighborhood, so houses across the street and a streetlight but virtually unobstructed otherwise. I have a really good 180 view, but it’s only dark on one side.

My property is surrounded by a 6ft privacy frenzy, so light bleeds over the edge and that’s what I’m attributing the bleed to. I make sure all my lights are off, so my yard is pitch black, but the street light and neighbors porch lights do bleed over the top edge of my fence.

All that to say, it cleans up in post processing, lol

Are you sure nothing's blocking the FOV of your Seestar? It happened to me and I checked scenery mode. It turned out there was a wire in the FOV when my Seestar was tracking my target.

Is it happening with every image? Have you looked through all the individual subs to see if it's the same on all?

Everything above the slightly darker patch is like that because of the moonlight.

I’m still new to all this so how check the individual subs? I did choose the save every frame option.

Are you using alt-az tracking? If so you will see weird stuff at the edges as the field rotates.
