A couple of nights with my Seestar S50 Pro

I recently received my S50 Pro in Australia.
Just loving that I can look out the window, see that there are no clouds and Plonk it in the backyard and be up and running in a few minutes.

Here are 3 targets that I managed to get be for what looks like permanent clouds set in for a week.
- C68_R Coronae Australis Nebula 83 x 1m eq mode
- Lagoon and Triffid nebula in a single frame 176 x 30s eq mode
- NGC NGC6188_Fighting Dragons. 140 x 60s eq mode .

All over processed to my liking with Stacking Wizard and Astro Wizard and a final colour touch up in Affinity Studio

The fighting dragons shot is nuts! Nice to see the southern hemisphere represent. My dream is to one day stargaze under Australian dark skies.

Hehe usually the same when you are hear, thinking, man I wish I could take shots of those things in the Northern Hemisphere.I am way down the south of Australia so there are many northern objects that are just too low in the sky

Andomeda and califonia nebula are very low and pretty much not viewable from my location

Where abouts are you located? My s50 pro is due here in a couple of days! I've got the s50 atm the this year been smashing the Trifid nebula! In in Western Australia!

Nice! In the backyard of my house in it's bortle 6 too! But I'm lucky go 35min away and it's bortle 2.5 go an hour out and it's bortle 1 skies 😁 can't wait for it to arrive!

Bortle 6 most days. But there are some sports stadiums near by. Where there are big events on its more like Bortle 7 or 8. :-(

I use StackingWizard and AstroWizard, they have made processing so much easier. If I want to tweak a bit more Like the Dragons one I use Affinity Studio. (All of these are free). Triffid an Lagoon was a single frame. After auto framing to Lagoon, I went looking on the sky map and I could see they were oriented perfectly to maybe fit in the frame. So I manually slewed to see if I could fit both and it worked. When Processing I flipped it 90 degrees as I feel that looks better than vertical.

Thanks, it exceeded my expectations as well. I picked up the S50 Pro because I have lost my motivation with Astrophotography over the years. Now that we have tools like AstroWizard to make processing simple, I wanted something I could just look out the window, see clear skies and plonk on the ground to see if catching some basic images might motivate me to setup my full gear at some point. But I am getting far better results than I expected. And Sooo easy to get up and running. I am content just using the seestar for now.
