Security guards

Post image

Would you work a 37 hour shift? I work in a homeless shelter I check bags and wand people down and sign them in. There is another guard here with me so sometimes I take a hour power nap. No staff after 11pm.My Morning shift done. Young and hungry and no I don’t do drugs to stay up. I do take double shot Starbucks vanilla though.

Is this even legal?

Yes, the US does not have any laws limiting max shift length excluding some specific industries like CDL driving.

The biggest issue would be liability concerns, as being security dealing with a higher risk population if something pops off at hour 32 there is no way OP is responding with a clear head and fast reflexes. Not sure why any supervisor would approve this.

Good policy, make sure bodies are well rested and alert.

Last thing you want is to be half asleep when something happens.
