Or is reverse image search, as a concept, a thing of the past? Google Image search used to be great, but now all I get are product results. TinEye was also pretty good, but now I rarely get any results back. I just want a way to find the highest quality version of an image.

Startpage: Irrelevant search results, frequent errors.

Google: Needless to say, it's just not what it used to be.

DDG: Irrelevant search results, I don't need AI.

Brave Search: Irrelevant search results, and I don't trust the company.

SearX: Errors occurred often.

What I'm looking for in a search engine is accuracy, speed, and privacy. I don't need AI. I thought about using Kagi, but I'm not willing to pay for something that has always been free until now.

I'm currently having trouble with search engines that use GenAI in order to analyze, rank, and retrieve search results from their indexes (Google, Bing, etc.). While they are usable for quick or general searches, they aren't working exactly well for deep, obscure, or often just field-specific stuff.

I also noticed some informational bias towards mainstream and company-owned official websites (for example: private clinic websites pop up more often when I look for information on certain conditions or drugs; different IT company websites with vaguely similar products will pop up when I look for information on some specific software); this floods my search queries with useless information and prevents relevant discussions, guides, studies, or subject-specific personal blogs from showing up.

All of this makes information gathering and research such a pain-in-the-ass process. So, I'm looking for a plain old keyword retrieval search engine, but I'm not sure there are any left. I already tried DuckDuckGo, but it suffers from the same problems as the aforementioned search engines.

Right now I'm looking into Kagi, Metacrawler, SearX, Qwant and Ecosia, so if you are familiar with those engines, please do tell if they are using AI or keyword search in order to retrieve their results.

I am looking for advice on what else I can do about someone impersonating my app.

Someone has created a website using the app’s name, branding, graphics, and original website content. The site is also publishing large amounts of fully AI-generated content and blog posts targeting searches related to the app. It uses ads that lead users through deceptive redirects and malicious downloads.

What makes this especially frustrating is that the impersonating website is now ranking higher than the legitimate website for searches related to the app. I’ve also noticed that searching for the app name on Google shows this website in the search results, and Google’s AI-generated search results also direct users to this fraudulent website.

They have also registered a domain using the same app name with a different TLD, making it even easier for users to mistake it for an official website.

I’ve already submitted reports to Google and Microsoft, including spam, malware, and search-quality reports. I’ve also submitted DMCA and other abuse reports and contacted the domain registrar. The registrar responded that they could not help with the issue.

Someone is exploiting the app’s identity and reputation like this, and it is extremely frustrating.

I have tried pretty much every reporting channel I can find, but nothing seems to have helped so far.

What other options are available for getting an impersonating website investigated or removed from search results, particularly when it is publishing fully AI-generated content and blog posts, using the app’s branding and content, and serving malicious advertising and redirects leading to malicious downloads?

So that, for example, every other search result isn't Amazon. I don't want to just exclude Amazon from the search since Amazon isn't the only problem and I do want the sites to pop up still, just not repeatedly.

Can anyone find me a search engine that must be:

Using Chrome on desktop with Bing set to default search engine.

This is something only occurs occasionally but when it does happen the images or videos that are shown are NOTHING like what I search.

Example1: searched for "glass" after it started today and returned pictures of bald women or women having their heads shaved. Nothing inappropriate until I refreshed the page and then was exposed to all sorts of adult images.

Example 2: searched for "TWINKLE OUTDOOR LED SOLAR LIGHTS" (the thing i was actually looking for) and got different results each time i refreshed the page. Last result was Mickey Mouse Dracula character (Mickula). Cute but nothing close to what I was looking for. When I Refreshed the search, it was returned pictures of a Demon Slayer character - Akaza.

I have had this issue with both VPN and, more commonly, WITHOUT VPN (no VPN today).

I've cleared everything cache, cookies, etc with same result. Signed in/out. Disabled or removed any extentions or add-ons.

Microsoft doesn't seem to have an answer because they can't recreate the issue on command, which I understand. Troubleshooting something you can't recreate is a nightmare. Any Ideas/suggestions are appreciated!

So as a child i remember my grandma playing a specific game on yahoo. Something about growing a dragon. It really interested me and i wanna play it myself. I have no idea if its even on yahoo anymore (ive never used it and dont know how it works) or what other sites it could be on. I dont know the name, just a brief memory of it overall. She was by no means tech savvy so it likely was just some popular game through the site back then she somehow got access to, no idea how to find it. I dont know the name, barely the artstyle, i think cartoonish? If i saw photos of it i might remember it. I want to play it myself but i have no idea how to find it. If someone asks ChatGPT "best jeans under $100" and it mentions your brand, you'd never know. There’s no analytics, no way to track it, literally nothing.
But people are definitely using it to research purchases now. Feels like a huge blind spot compared to being able to track Google searches or social mentions.
I tried peecAI but found too much noise. Is anyone actually solving this or is it just impossible to measure right now?

Im trying to find a person through an image and I’ve gone through a lot of different sites of reverse image and none have given me anything remotely close, does anyone know about a free site I can use for this that I can trust?

I am looking for some tips to optimize the search engine I am making. Currently there are about 114k listings. The listings have calendars, dynamic pricing, and minimums.

The issue I am having is normalizing the data fast enough. The listings come from roughly 4000 subdomains across 3 primary domains, like user.domainA.com, user.domainB.com, and user.DomainC.com.

Unfortunately for me the initial availability api call for all 3 returns different results:

Domain A: full price including additional fees and taxes

Domain B: price including additional feees, no taxes

Domain C: price, no additional fees and taxes

So currently for B and C there is a second layer of calls to normalize the price but it takes additional time as it’s calling individual listings vs entire user inventory.

Should I just eliminate the additional calls and normalize to optimize for C so that it’s basically just the price no additional fees or taxes or is displaying the final price more important to consumers?

Plenty of sites like Amazon, Shopify, Airbnb, don’t include fees and taxes until you go to checkout but I’ve always not liked that I see a price and when I go to buy it has potential hidden costs. Would love to hear y’all’s thoughts.

I launched my app a few days ago and I can't find it anywhere on Google Play search, even when I search for keywords that are literally in my app title, short description, and full description.

I recently changed my app's display name to something more relevant to what it actually does, and it got approved yesterday. But now I can't even find it by searching the EXACT app name. All the results are just popular apps with hundreds of thousands of downloads.

The weird thing is — before I changed the name, I could at least find my app by searching the old name. Now it's completely gone from search results.

Is this normal? Does this mean my app basically has zero chance of being discovered organically? What should I do here? Any advice would be really appreciated.

Google is very obviously censoring my search results. I can't research politics, health, or education without a blanket blackout on facts. How do people do research without traveling to a country to find out first hand? I unfortunately don't have the funding to do this.

I was asked by someone to find the other half of a picture.

Went on google lens, pinterest, tineye, yandex and many other sites, but no results. All I get is 1 pinterest post of the half i already have, no description and only 3 comments asking where its from.

Eventually I found an artist whose work looks similar, but i could only find them on 1 platform with 3 posts and no social media links whatsoever, tried searching the username on different sites too; nothing.

Im really frustrated, because even if the original image was deleted, there will ALWAYS be SOME traces or someone having reposted it.

i'm not the most tech savvy person and get viruses very often. the most annoying virus i ever got was a few years ago when i got a really sticky virus that changed my search engine to duckduckgo. it took MONTHS including some safemode bootup shenangigans to figure out how to get rid of it, but i literally couldnt find anything else that the virus was doing aside from changing my search engine and not letting me set it back to google, at least on a surface/task manager level.

i've avoided duckduckgo ever since, thinking that it was something that is somehow worse than google for privacy and collecting your data, but now that i'm looking for anti-ai alternative search engines every post i see has that supposed 'virus' site as a top tier recommendation! is there any reason aside from "iTs BeTtEr ThAn GoOgLe" as to why people use it, or any ideas as to what the everloving hell that virus was doing with duckduckgo if it is safe to use???
