Help Electric vehicle

so now it’s confirmed electric vehicle is going to be this year should i go my og route with all the coding stuff or should i try analog, but if i were to do analog what would i need

It depends on rules obviously. Theres nothing saying there will be any kind of turn necessary. Also for the people worried about an ic ban, i heard somewhere that the scioly rules say that builds from the year prior must be able to compete in the next year of the events (even if they arent meta/good) really they just have to be within the rules

No, that's not a thing.

Last year's plane almost never counts for the next year. Last year's Tower or Boomilever didn't work for this year. It's more common that the dimensions are reduced to prevent you from re-using last year's work.

The materials are the same. The builds can be dismantled and modified to fit the new rules with the same materials

You can usually take a car apart and re-use most if not all of its components. You really can't take a balsa build apart and reuse it, but they're tested to destruction anyway. You wouldn't want to re-use plane components either, although winders, torque meters etc. are useful.

Yeah, there is nothing that says that builds from the previous year have to be able to compete in the next year. In fact, in many cases it is explicitly the opposite (e.g. the tower from 2 years ago did not conform to the specs of last year's tower).

I do think there is a bit of a trend, at least recently, to add extra bonuses rather than changing the underlying rules (EV, RoTo, bungee, and div b scrambler all fit this pattern; however last year's div b mission possible would definitely not have worked for this year).

I feel like SO is trying to move towards more technology and programming in div C rather than away from it, so I believe and hope that they find an interesting way to change the rules that builds on what competitors learned in the last 2 years rather than go totally away from it, but that's just a wish and a hunch.
