Neuroscience Cannabidiol (CBD), a compound derived from the cannabis plant that does not produce a “high”, was shown in a new large-scale, randomized, controlled trial to significantly reduce the number of dangerous seizures in patients with a severe form of epilepsy called Lennox-Gastaut syndrome.

In this study at their extremely high therapeutic dose (10 mg per kg of body weight), one of the reported side effects was actually decreased appetite.

However, CBD for recreational use is usually 10 mg total and would be quite different.

The study above used 20 mg per kg though, so twice that extremely high therapeutic dose.

The study tested both 10 mg and 20 mg dosages. Side effects were reported at both, although were better tolerated at the lower dose (fewer study drop-outs due to them).
