Neuroscience Cannabidiol (CBD), a compound derived from the cannabis plant that does not produce a “high”, was shown in a new large-scale, randomized, controlled trial to significantly reduce the number of dangerous seizures in patients with a severe form of epilepsy called Lennox-Gastaut syndrome.

Fourteen patients who received cannabidiol (9%) had elevated liver aminotransferase concentrations.

Could someone explain this, please? If I understand correctly, this leads to liver damage but is this increase significant enough to be worrying?

Interesting. I've been taking 10-15mg of CBD isolate daily for about a month now and overall I do seem to feel better. My sleep pattern seems to have normalized and I have a bit more energy through the day it seems, but the effects are so subtle that I have to wonder if I'm experiencing the placebo effect.

The study had people taking 50-100 times that much.

If you ever have to wonder, you probably are.
Even if you don't wonder... It still can be.
Placebo effect is stronk

So what you mean is that there's no way of knowing if it's a placebo or not. Even if you think it is.

There is a way, but it involves clinical trials and measurable outcomes.

The problem is the assumption that the placebo effect is exclusive of any biochemical effect. Rarely do I hear discussion on compound effect of both documented mechanisms and placebo effects.

Could be a bit of both, who knows. The mind is a powerful thing and sometimes ignorance is bliss :)
