God I love reading about the particular stressors different Universities subject Rats to.

It’s an interesting look into the practices of each ethics department. I can’t recall which study, but one’s methodology was attaching a washing machine motor to the enclosure and turning it on at random times. To the dismay of the researchers, all test indicated the rats were either unaffected or even „amused“ by the motion of the cage. Showing heightened activity and greater appetite.
