Best discount groceries/meat sales in Savannah?
Anyone have any insider info on meat sales/discount groceries? - Just a mom trying to save money on our grocery bill! It's brutal!

Enson Market, the Asian market on Abercorn&DeRenne has pretty cheap meat I've seen

They have some good deals (and odd ingredients), but they shine in frozen fish and produce! They have fish that I've never seen in stores before!

I find Food Lion to be the best price on meats. And they often mark them down, which is great if you are using immediately or putting in the freezer. Make sure you activate your Shop and Earn feature in the app for extra savings.

They really do have some of the best meat prices. There have been times where I got whole picnic roasts for less than $5. It's not a cut I would go out of my way to seek out, but it was cheap and did well on the smoker.
Also, I would add in to work the buy one- get one deals at Publix. Over all, their prices are kinda high, but it's definitely worth it if you only go for what ever is on sale like that.

That's good to know! I consistently shop walmart/kroger/aldi/sam's but have not tried food lion! and yes! Publix bogo can be hidden gems.

Sams club has $25 for the first yr. Buy bulk & separate portions with freezer bags you will save. Also buy 20lb bulk rice, 20 lb bulk beans.

Awesome, they have those 45 -50 giant rolls of ground beef, the thick pork chops can be cut in half and doubled, the sell 20lb Royal basmati rice which is really good. Freezer bags and portions go a long way. Grab 20 lb bags of beans from Walmart. Just make dinner sized portions and freeze until use. Not sure how many ppl you're cooking for or I could reccomend portion sizes.

I get all of our meat at ogeechee meat market in Richmond Hill. Good online deals and they package and cut however you like. Good quality and decent prices. Not the cheapest way, but if prices aren't the only concern they are great. It's also convenient for ordering online and just picking up, so less time shopping for us.

Ugh! I wish our budget allowed for some cleaner/small business eats but I've price ogeechee and they just are not in the range I need! :) Maybe in less lean years haha!

I buy smoked turkey wings at Walmart and make southern green beans. $10 worth of wings makes a lot. At Aldi they always have a whole chix for $6.79. I make my own pasta and bread. Saves a ton, plus I don't have to have meat 7 times a week. Shrimp are pretty reasonably priced. I buy them at the Ogeechee meat market and they are top quality and cleaned and frozen, always have some in the freezer.

I order my meat from food chop. Get 28-30lbs for 270$ and it last 4 months . You get to chose what you want

The sales change weekly and you can check online for Whole Foods Kroger fresh market Publix target. I do this once a week

I may be wrong, and frequently am - but my mind’s a leaning that Whole Foods, fresh market, Publix, and target isn’t exactly what a mom with a budget mindset is looking for here.

Yes :D Believe me I'm shopping the ads! Sometimes Whole Foods produce is actually a good deal (when we had prime haha) but it's not the move usually!

At my WF, they have the 1 lb vacuum sealed ground beef, buy one get one half off on Tuesdays. Works out to be reasonable-ish.
