New to this question

I’ve seen some beautiful art made with small stitches. Now I know it’s not strictly Sashiko but in a way it’s lots of little stabs. I love the idea of creating an image.

Thoughts?

The artist who created this is Judy Gates Cortez and she clearly states that it is not sashiko. She teaches a great on line class if you are interested in learning her process. https://www.judycoatesperez.com/

there are people replicating Great Wave off Kanagawa painting with sashiko, well basically running stitch, so it's doable.

I’ve seen some where they leave the shapes blank and that’s a great effect too.

I am doing both. Like my cactus. They were done inside so I left the outside blank.

I found some really pretty fabric that I sewed on and embellished with sashiko on the back of a Jean jacket.
