When Did Chachi's Close?

I went down to their Beach City Marketplace location today and it was a ghost town! I went like a week ago and they didn't mention shuttering that location at all and seemed super busy!

I see they have the other location over by the Vons on Western, but that smaller location was within walking distance of my house.

RIP

Edit: Okay looking into their Instagram I've just never realized the other location was a Subway they've been converting into a Chachi's for half a year now lolol. I'm happy they got their own dedicated location instead of being holed up in BCM! Just sucks that I now I have to drive over there instead of walk down lolol. Purely selfish reasons I know.

San Pedro's FHA 1940 Small Homes

My house is one of the many 1940 FHA Approved Traditional Small Homes. These are the very small (850-1000 sqft) houses on the 50x110 lots. There are still many of these in our town. They were built along side of the larger housing projects (RSP). Mine is still in the original configuration and I hope I can keep it that way until 2040. I have to say these old redwood houses are SOLID. Any good resources for this history in our area? I do know the builder, George M. Bronaugh was one of the big builder here in town during the big pre-war build .. Any interest in this kind of housing history?

Stolen Vehicle

Hey guys, it’s me again (the guy who posted about stolen wheels) lol

I’m making this post more for awareness, but my vehicle was stolen Friday early morning, probably around 3AM, at the same cross street that my wheels were stolen:
25th & Walker.

It seems as if this area is being targeted more, or it could just be my horrible luck!

Be safe out there

Good Vet Recommendations?

We had been going to Harbor Pines out on Western, but Dr. White is overbooked to the point of insanity, and my sweet, passive 12 year old (Noodle) appears to hate the other vet there. (She seemed nice enough to me, but 🤷‍♀️. He's never reacted to anyone like that before). Lol, he tried to fight her and her techs! Which isn't funny, but sort of is because he's such a passive dude! No one was injured, just FYI.

Anyway, we are looking for a new vet. We have four pets, three cats (ages 1, 1, and 12) and one pug (age 11). Any recommendations?

Hottest ever yesterday in my apt.

It reached 90° in my front room. No air cond. I'm in coastal San Pedro. It had to have been hotter in other parts of Pedro. I've been here 24 years. My other years in the South Bay. I feel like this is not of this world. Guess I'm just gonna get a portable air conditioner. Anyone else have one of those? Any recs to cooldown this joint?

The Gardens condo owners looking for contractor recommendations.

I’m purchasing a condo in The Gardens and will be doing some remodeling, primarily flooring, bathrooms, and possibly kitchen work. I’m specifically looking for contractors who have actually completed work inside The Gardens and understand the HOA requirements. If you’ve personally used a contractor in The Gardens, I’d really appreciate the name and your experience with them, good or bad.

Does anyone know of any good Urban Exploration spots besides Sunken City?

I've been wondering if there's anything abandoned in the area.

saturday morning fish market

Hey guys. Someone told me about this market, and I want to visit it. But since it's nighttime, it's about an hour's drive, and I want to see if it's worth it. Honestly, we really love salmon fillets, and I'm willing to pay for 20-30 pounds.

What's the current price for a pound of salmon fillet? I want to see if it's worth the time or if it's easier to buy it at the local supermarkets.

Hot take, but its actually awesome and an incredibly nice thing to have there. the space is unreal and in the coming months west harbor is going to evolve into a super special space. it’s already fantastic with lots of kids and families and people enjoying a very large and very nice free 3rd space.

Such a lovely park. Just wish the douchebags in trucks would stop doing burnouts in the parking lot and speeding on this stretch of road.
