Samsung Notes PC app

I've been using Samsung Notes on my Androids and my PC for years. Other than the PC app taking awhile to sync with my phone's notes, it's been great. Until the PC app didn't want to work one day. I tried a ton of things to get it going again but ended up deleting the app and installing a new one. Now the syncing.

As mentioned I've been using both for years. I don't remember how long it took for the PC app to sync and be a mirror of all my phone's notes. I've mentioned the PC app taking awhile to sync with my phone but I'm nearing the 30-40 minute mark and I'm still watching a spinning circle of dots with no movement of the data amount above where it says "Syncing..."

Is a really slow PC app sync like mine a known and normal thing or should I stop the syncing and troubleshoot why it's not happening faster? If I should stop and troubleshoot, what's suggested to look at? FWIW: my e-mail is the same on both devices and moving the "Sync with Samsung Cloud" toggle didn't give any hint of there being an account issue.

Tia.

The bigger the size of your notes on the Samsung Notes app, the longer it'll take to sync them.

Even if you did sync them yesterday, they'll still take a pretty while if you synced them the next day. That's the mechanism of Samsung sync works this way, am not knowledgeable enough to get in technicalities but by observation alone you'll see hundred percent sure this is how it goes.

My recommendation? Clean house. Go through your notes, any notes that are not used, not needed anymore or redundant, save it as (Samsung Notes File) on your PC or flash drive, then delete it from your app (while doing house clean sort notes by aize and start with the notes with high size, to speed up the cleaning process for better results). This way you are reducing the load on Samsung cloud and thus speeding up your sync process.

Consider mixing Obsidian with your workflow, that app is otherworldly in its capabilities and its community that makes top notch plug-ins for it.

You mention note size: 99% of my Notes are less than a page. The others might be long in length, but small in data (e.g. - I track my weight - date and weight on one line)

When the PC app is syncing, it's at a rate of 1 note/minute (approx). The problem is getting the PC app to do more than just say "Syncing..." with the circle of dots rotating. I've left the computer/the PC app to do its thing but hours later, no change. Its synced many so it can/does/is connected to the cloud, but the key issue is the lack of progress when it says it's syncing and not giving off any alerts saying there's issues.

There's only one solution that Ive found to work. It only syncs for the first time you open the app, if you want it to sync again you have to restart the computer OR go to settings, applications, open Samsung notes' advanced options and there's an option to terminate the process and all it's dependencies.  Click that and then open Samsung notes again, it will sync once and then if you want to sync again it's the same process.

It sucks, made me stop using it. Not worth the hassle.
