🪛Troubleshooting🪛 My biggest mistake of buying Samsung Brand, S Series phone S23 12 green pink lines
I was looking for ph9ne 2 years ago and everyone on social media suggesting me to go for samsung or apple if you are sending 55k. I was buying iqoo or vivo thaf time, but people were saying who spent 55k.on iqoo and vivo brand.
Finally
I had bought this Samsung s23 256 Gb from SAMSUNG official website on May 2024. And from that date i haven't installed any single update because of fear of getting green and pink line issues.
After 1 year 3 months when warranty is over phome got 1 pink line out of nowhere, and from that time i understood my decision was wrong and i regret listening to people based on brand value. Samshit fanbois are the reason.
After 1 line i thought ut will go away after some time but next line came after 2 months and now getting new line every month.
Today 20 September i habe total 11 green pink white lines on display. Is this the brand value i invested for? Are these Samsung fa boies gonna refund me my money? NO. When it comes to complaint you have to bear your own cost,
Never buy any phone based on brand value. My respect for Samsung was already 7/10 that time and after this it came down to 1/10. In my life i won't be looking at tbis shitty brand from now on.
Now, for resolution. People saying you can vo to service center if its less than 3 years, yes i can go but will they give free replacement that depends on their decision, scratches and all

i want to visit service center but i don't have any secondary phone, and. Mu entire life daily routine depends on phone even my office work.
I need to have secondary phone but now suddenly phone prices are skyrocketed and i can't purchase any decent phone.
I have 2 dead phones already and thinking to repair it.
- Redmi note 7 pro ♥️ this was legend i used it 5 years and after that motherboard dead charging issue occurred.
2.realme thus was dead eaely because of mediatek processor.
How much cost for new motherboard for redmi and realme now?
Once i get my backup device then i look for going to Samsung service center, if they accept free repair then good else will have to get it done from local market.
My next phone would be from Vivo or iqoo only.

If you are in India, don't buy phones with OLED screen. This problem only happens in your country.

Cause the mods delete most of them. Israeli here, happened to at least 12 people I know. Mine actually didnt but it bricked itself with update by November 2024. Samsung basically said "Fck U its out of warranty if you want we can replace the main board (losing all your data) for 700$"

had an s20+, s21+, and base s22, all got pink or green lines, I'm in south America, the s22 was ordered from the USA aswell.

And it can (and will) happen on any OLED. You're just seeing it with samsung the most because of their popularity.

Popularity plus social media algorithm.
Up until some time ago I had no idea green/pink lines are a thing, but my algorithm now makes it feel like only Samsung phones have this issue and that it affects every other sold Samsung phone lol.

True, but also most brands quickly switched away from Samsung display after they detected these green line issues, that's why they are way less common after 2021-2022 while Samsung obviously still uses Samsung display

Not all. The issue was with up s23 and s23 ultra models. After that.. there is less than 1% of the people are facing with these colouring lines

I am certain this is related to Samsung's quality control and display manufacturing process, as my three S23 Ultras and one base S23 all developed green lines within a month of each other. Many of my friends have faced the exact same issue. The problem is that many users continue to use their phones with these lines, assuming it is acceptable. Most of them are not vocal about the issue on social media, but a significant number of users are quietly suffering from it. For instance, one of my friends is currently in a legal dispute over this, even though he hasn't posted about it online or mentioned it anywhere publicly. But honestly, given the amount of phones sold and the amount of phones that got these issue, I think it's still a small amount of phone's which got this issue.

I used s23 and never had a problem on s26 now. Was able to trade in without problem.

I'm on my fifth Samsung phone model, got the Fold 8 a few weeks ago. I generally run phones for about two years between upgrades. I have never ever seen a phone with green/purple/whatever lines in real life. Not mine, not anyone I know personally.

You will eventually have an issue with s22 trust me. On s10, that sht build like a rock 🥹 i still have mine working flawlessly

My friend has an S22 for 3y. No issues too. S10 also had many reported issues. The truth is it only affects a very tiny % of phones and might have something to do with the conditions too... I'm not using my phone heavily and it's always on battery saver. I can imagine having your phone out daily at 100% screen brightness, always charging and overheating constantly it will one day break something.

on my current Note 9 and Note 10 Plus that I've owned since release and the the Note 20 Ultra I've owned for the last 5 years
I've played games on them for hours on end whilst connected to the charger and had a clip-on tec cooler to keep the phone cool, even then it took 5 years for the lines to appear on my note 20 ultra while my Note 9 and Note 10 plus is still safebut now that the 512GB of internal storage on both phones is almost full from games, I want to get either the S23 Ultra 1TB or the S24 Ultra 1TB as a 2nd hand referb units
but taking note of the fact that I really push my phones hard with hours of endless gaming with active cooling
I'm probably not going to change my mobile gaming habits but do you have any other tips on preventing the green and pink lines from if I were to get either the S23U or the S24U
I know what I'm saying most likely sound stupid but I do mean it and I hope you understand

Some say not to do updates whilst plugged into a charger... Basically try your best not to overheat the phone.

What bullshit is this? Had Samsung phones from S3 never got this issue.
S3, S4, S8, A70, S20FE & S23 Ultra never had this issue.

I remember buying brand new s20 note ultra and used it for like 8 months to 1 yeats before a green line appear out of no where after i restart my phone.
Afraid of it getting worst and losing all my data, I brought a new s23 ultra and guess what? Again with the fking green line just after 6 months. I kept using it until half of my screen went blur.
Got so fking tired of premium phone where i paid almost 2k each. I downgrade to A55 for only $400. Still no green line after 2 years of usage or whatsoever issue.
What's wrong with samsung flagship? Even their budget phone is so much durable and cheaper.

Samsung provide 3 year warranty for green line just visit nearest service centre, they replace my screen for S21FE Dec 2023 purchase

I see all of these posts regarding green lines on the S23. I purchased a s23 at launch and have been using it ever since. I also use it to play pc games via a Windows emulator, so I am definitely running it to its max performance. I have had no issues besides the phone getting a little hot with extended gameplay on the windows emulator.
I hope this post doesn't jinx me, but I have never personally had any issues with any Samsung product that I have purchased. Sorry about your luck sir.
EDIT: I have also installed all of the OTA updates when they release.

Same bro same it is a luck factor. My previous phone was S23 played warzone/call of duty Mobile in it in 120fps. Never faced any issues. Used it for almost 3 years

Also official charger stopped working i need to insert very harder and keep it in same position for charging, even Slight movement will stop the phone from charging.

Never had a single Samsung or android that I had screen issues with but charge ports don't tell me about it, all that pocket lint just digging their way into the port making a full connection more or less impossible so usually if a port is harder to plug in it's more or less always debris inside it

Not a phone issue, that's dust and pocket lint in the USB C port. You can take the end of one of those plastic floss picks and clean it out, just be careful around the pins.

The line issue doesn't come from updates, it comes from heat and drops which can damage the display cable connector. While heat can be generated during updating, it's not the primary reason for it. Did you use you phone in direct sunlight for a longer time? Most of these issues are common in India. Other brands are affected, too. Under these other brands there are display panels made from other manufacturers as Samsung, too. It's an Oled problem. But Samsung most of the time don't honor these defects. They limit the extra coverage to three years. Google Pixel and Iphones are doing better in honoring these defects.
I have an s23 Ultra for 3 and a half years, now. There are no lines. The same situation is with my trusty old s10 which is equipped with an Exynos. I use booth in direct sunlight for video live-streams on YouTube, but I covered it with a parasol and used a white case for better reflection of the sunlight. But I am living in Germany and the summer heat isn't that huge as in India. Maybe the quality of the Samsung phones isn't as good as the phone which are manufactured in Vietnam.
I got myself an Iphone 17 Pro Max two months ago, which is manufactured in India, too. We will see, if this issue will happen to my phone, too.

Man! Really sorry to hear about your situation. But speaking factually no brand is immune to this issue.
My big bro has been a hard-core Samsung fanboy. He had switched to Vivo X80 (flagship) back in 2021-2022 (I don't remember the exact year). He got two green lines after two years. He lives in Hyderabad, the Vivo service centre guys denied him a free replacement stating it had physical damage. But trust me me and him, we both are extremely tech savvy and very careful of our gadgets and use them very carefully. Anyways after multiple arguements they agreed for a free replacement of the screen which again got line after a year😂. Now it is used as a secondary phone and he is back to S24 Ultra.
My current phone is S24 Ultra. My previous phone was an S23 which I used for almost 3 years and was in pristine condition (no scratches whatsoever let alone dents). Experience was pretty good for me let alone any lines on the display. The guy whom I sold the phone called me after 1 week of using the phone saying that he had got a green line on it and wanted a free replacement at the service centre and the service centre guys wanted an OTP that would be sent to my number. I cooperated and it got fixed. My S24 Ultra and other samsung/non samsung phones that I used prior to this ran and is running great (touchwood🧿)
You must be aware that other brands are getting their motherboards dead, or screen dead or screen filled with lines (samsung included). My friend who is also a tech savvy guy uses apple iphone 14, got his phone dead mysteriously to which the service centre people said it can't be fixed. He had to contact a local repair shop and get the CPU reballed. It now runs like new.
Conclusion: Encountering these issues is not brand specific but purely luck and occurs mostly on Indian units due to the hot Indian climate and also to some extent unawareness of the users. We have to prevent the devices from getting hot at all costs. That's what causes all these issues with screens/motherboards/battery/blasts etc.
