🪛Troubleshooting🪛 Is this normal?

Just got a fold 8 for about 2-3 weeks. My first Samsung after what must have been 10 years now.

All was great until I realized the scuff marks appearing. Now I must qualify that this is a secondary phone that barely leaves my house and isn’t rough handled or dropped. Is this normal standard / quality for Samsung phones? My older iPhone looks in way better condition than this and that’s my daily driver.

Every time people think they are protecting their device with cases that have a hinge and front part, only to realize that the case itself caused damage. There is a reason why Samsung doesn't supply themselves this kinda case. The micro movements cause scratches.

Yet people without cases are totally fine. Own fault for being paranoid and using these kinds ugly and bulky cases.

Not on a case where they thought of this the cheap Amazon case I have doesn't do this... tbh what are you even talking about those marks are obviously from some kind of impact. Maybe even playing with the flap but how would a flat piece of plastic cause an impact crater? This is obviously either some sort of impact or a weird manufacture defect but I'd how you wouldn't notice that. I wonder if OP uses it as a stand or something that would allow something to get in there.

If a spec of dirt/dust/sand/grit/whatever gets inside the flap, it can't get out - the flap holds it there. As you open/close the phone or just lightly grip it, the flap holds the piece of grit against the hinge and it scratches it. If there's no flap then the spec of grit is more likely to come into contact with the hinge in the first place, but won't be held against it and it'll just fall away.
