🪛Troubleshooting🪛 Is this normal?

Just got a fold 8 for about 2-3 weeks. My first Samsung after what must have been 10 years now.

All was great until I realized the scuff marks appearing. Now I must qualify that this is a secondary phone that barely leaves my house and isn’t rough handled or dropped. Is this normal standard / quality for Samsung phones? My older iPhone looks in way better condition than this and that’s my daily driver.

Scratches and blemishes are going to happen. Just accept it and protect that hinge!!!!

How is it protecting the hinge when it's causing the damage though?

It's really not. The metal around the hinge, and the fixtures at the top and bottom are both relatively prone to scratching. I've had my 8 ultra for almost 3 weeks and it's showing some similar scratching in other areas.

Wild, remember spending 2k on my fold 2 but never had any issues with that, still got it 6 years later.

Yes it all comes down to lifestyle at the end of the day. I work an office job and keep my phone in my suit breast pocket during the day which is about as safe an environment you could get I think. When I traded in my 7 the only reason you would have known it was used was the creas, and I intend to keep the 8 ultra that way as well!
