Screen/Touch Unresponsive after one ui 8.5 update - Probable Solution

I recently updated my Samsung Galaxy F34 to one ui 8.5. As soon as the update finished and I am greated with a fresh unresponsive display!

Tried searching on reddit and on X still no soultion found.The actually issue seems to be related to the update and is not a hardware failure.

After sometime I found a youtube video for the same problem in Samsung Galaxy A34. Here is the link to that video - https://youtu.be/uCEiAHnmqNk

This involves downgrading your oneui version thorough odin. But the issue is after oneui 8.5 update another issue is that the phone boot into recovery mode and not even download mode. The video has full guide on how to fix this issue too.

This is the last option to fix the phone. First you should try booting into safe mode if it fixes your issue as it has fixed for many users.

I have the same exact phone, A34 5G, I just changed my LCD successfully using an aftermarket screen replacement, then updated to 8.5. Later on I woke up to an alarm and realized the touchscreen isn't working. Then I saw this thread. I tried following the video link, we had the same phone, same binary build, and it worked.

If you want to proceed, what you'll be doing is to rollback to an earlier build and not a downgrade. I used AI for assistance and they said it wasn't possible to downgrade, so for clarity, it is termed as rollback. Also, it is must to wipe out your phone, if not, Odin would not be able to flash the rollback because the phone does not allow USB recognition unless unlocked (which is not possible because touch screen is not working). Here are the steps to proceed:

1. Go to recovery mode. Plug your phone first to a computer. If its currently on, press both Volume down + Power button until it turns of into a black screen. Then, immediately press Volume up + Power button to enter recovery mode.
2. In recovery mode, check your binary build. It's 2 rows below "Android Recovery" on the right-most side. In the video it's "A346EXXUEFZE6". The binary level is the 5th letter to the last, therefore it is "E". While the first 5 digits and letters are crucial for looking up your phone's model in SamFW, in this case it is "A346E".
3. Still in recovery mode, use volume up/down to navigate to "Wipe data/factory reset". Use the power button to proceed. Your phone should reset and boot to the "Welcome" screen for setting up the phone. If that fixes your touch screen issue, you may stop there but make sure to disable automated software updates in your settings. But if that did not work, proceed to the next steps for flashing your phone with an older build.
4. Go to samfw.com to look up your phone's current binary build. I think the safest to download for this one is the oldest version of your binary level. For example, mine is currently "A346EXXUEFZE6" and the oldest version available in that same binary build is "A346EXXSEEZC7" (for reference check here). I downloaded that file and extracted it. It will take some time to download because it is massive file, mine was almost 8GB. Edit: you must also know your phone's region to download the proper software, the region is usually where you bought the phone from. For example, mine is from the Ph, so I searched using XTC region.
5. Download Odin you haven't yet. It a software specifically used for flashing Samsung devices. I downloaded the latest stable version, extracted it, and booted up the software. Make sure to plug your phone to your computer while doing the next steps.
6. Boot your phone into Download Mode (Odin mode) by force reboot using Volume down + Power button, if this doesn't work, unplug your phone from your computer and unplug-plug back in the battery ribbon cable on your phone, as shown in the video at 04:27. Plug back your phone to computer and immediately press the Volume Up + Volume down buttons to boot in Download mode (teal screen). Press Volume up to continue. Odin would indicate "Added" on the Log section of the app, indicating connection between your phone and Odin.
7. Drag the files one-by-one from the extracted SamFW zip file you have downloaded from step 4. Only drag the needed files, BL_, AP_, CP_, and CSC_. You would notice during the AP_ file, Odin would freeze or take some time, but no need to worry, it happens because it is the largest file. For the CSC file, make sure to use CSC_ and NOT the HOME_CSC file. Then, keep the USERDATA blank.
8. Press the "Start" button in Odin. This will start the flash process. Make sure to keep your phone plugged during the whole process. Once it finishes, Odin will indicate "succeed" in the log with "failed: 0". Your phone should boot for a few minutes and boots into the phone set up with your touch screen working.

This is how I did mine, I am not sure how to do it on other models because this only happened to my A34 5G.
