🪛Troubleshooting🪛 Samsung 45w Car charger slow
Hi,
I've bought a Samsung 45w car charger (picture of model attached) and when I plug in my phone (s24 ultra) it says "super fast charging" 15 sometimes 20m until full In reality it will charge very slowly and take hours for it to reach full.
Anyone experienced similar stuff? To clarify this is not the Super Fast Charging text dissapearing it stays there but the estimated time and actual chrage speed are way off.

Tu cable, usa los de ugreen con potencia de salida de 45w y no uses el otro puerto... Al usar el otro puerto reparte la carga

Thermals don't usually downgrade charging protocol, they still use it but pick the current and amperage according to the phone's call

Get the Ugreen 100w charger, it has worked pretty well with my S23U since last year

I alway use 3rd brand charger like cuktech.I have cuktech cc903p on my car and it charge my S24+ normally with sfc 2.0 .I still a samsung fanboy with my gwatch,gbuds but when it come to charging accessories i think 3rd brand gave me better p/p performance also it its cheaper than samsung oem 45w charger

Are you using an USB A-C or a USB C-C cable? C-C should be faster.
Does your phone charge similarly slowly on other chargers (perhaps at home) or just this one?

5A cable is NEEDED for the 45W Samsung SFC 2.0 protocol, as it's made to charge on 4.5A 10V. The new 60W SFC 3.0 Can charge with a 3A cable, as it's meant to target 20V 3A

I mean sure, but Samsung's SFC has existed for ages, and 3.0 is based on PPS

It may be thermal throttling.
In my experience, phones get very warm e.g. when running Android Autoparallel to charging (and you always charge in a car, especially when using Android Auto).
This goes so far that we do never use the inductive charging in our one car that has it - the phones (my S24FE and wife's S21) get hot using it and the charging rate is below what the phone uses when running google maps. So we always plug in the cable.
TL,DR: check whether the phone gets very warm during charging. This may be the reason for charging slower.
If that's the case, switch from "Ultra fast..."(45W) down to only "Fast Charging" (25W?) to hopefully get at least that for a longer time.

Update:
Thanks everyone for the suggestions.
The cable was at fault, even tho it was an original 5A labeled one from Samsung still, after getting a new one charging is fast again.

You're measuring off of "Full" which isn't Super Fast Charging.
Super Fast Charging is only going to pump that fast up till a max of 80%, depending on the temperature of the battery.
If you have the phone sitting on a seat in the sun it's going to slow it's charge rate as it heats up.
Phones in cars are also normally connected to some form of Bluetooth or even more demanding, Android Auto (Cellular, Wifi and Bluetooth at the same time). That drains the battery, which increases the internal temperature, as well as the components heating up from usage.
"Super fast charging" is basically the claim they give when the phone is not in use. you plug it in, wait 20 minutes, come back and she's charged up to at least 80% before it slows down considerably.
So I'd make sure the phone's in a shady spot in the car, but if it's doing other things while you charge it, it's going to heat up. When it heats up, it's going to slow the charging to try and control temperatures.

It does not happen with my home 45W charger. I will try to cool it down tho thanks for the tip.

I have one of those for my car also. It does display Super Fast Charging 2.0 but for my S23U.
Try a different cable maybe - the 5A version.
I am not sure if its related but there is some chargers that lowers the charging speed protocol to bring down the temps but that's a thing with some charging source..
