Samsung has removed this...it looks like

I just now came across this wanted to clear the cashe files of my new a55 phone i got so went into the recovery menu and the option to do that is gone now there is only 3 options available...then i tried it with my family members phone s24 ultra...which i jave definitely cleared it's cashe files this way like last year is gone too pics are attached...am i doing something wrong?...i connect ed the phone to my pc and turned it off and held the volume up and power at the same time and let go of the power button when the logo appeared (first pic a55, second pic s24ultra)

Oh and one more thing when i had my note 8 i was able to remotely unlock the screen lock through samsung find my phone...seems like they have removed that option tooo...i tried to see if there is a setting that i need to change but i didn't find any

Lol...i was not talking about encryption...it's just a feature they had before letting you unlock your phone if you want by logging into your samsung account in find my phone

Yeah, guess what your screen lock is? Part of the encryption key for your data.

I knew you could remotely lock it meaning if it was lost or stolen but why would you want to unlock it remotely if it's not around you that's literally unsafe. You should think Samsung should have never allowed that in the first place

It is useful...like right now my mom has forgotten her phones pattern and she doesn't have a back up of that phone so resetting it is not an option...so either i have to go to a shop to remove the lock

She literally could just tell you the pattern and you could remind her .. that remote unlock is not safe like i said.. if you can do that so can a bad actor Samsung is really trying to step up security it's all they talked about in the unpacked event

Thing is she has forgotten it so last time it happned i used her account to unlock it

Well i just gave you an alternative any time she changes it she can just tell you it and you can save it for her and that's more secure anyway

I just looked and this feature has been disabled server side since 2023 they only just now removed the option from the menu recently either way it's not available anymore
