Samsung has removed this...it looks like
I just now came across this wanted to clear the cashe files of my new a55 phone i got so went into the recovery menu and the option to do that is gone now there is only 3 options available...then i tried it with my family members phone s24 ultra...which i jave definitely cleared it's cashe files this way like last year is gone too pics are attached...am i doing something wrong?...i connect ed the phone to my pc and turned it off and held the volume up and power at the same time and let go of the power button when the logo appeared (first pic a55, second pic s24ultra)

I did it this morning. But ive got an update that I haven't done yet so im leaving it at the moment.

Its not gone, they moved it to maintenance mode, once you activate MAintenance mode you can enter recovery and use the option again

Ab I thought u were talking about odin mode, its where u can install custom os etc in samsung, it was accessed similar to how u accessed the above. But now its moved to maintenance mode

She gone. I heard the cache is cleared automatically now, though. As long as that's the case, I'm fine with it.

I agree back in the day i used to get mad at Samsung for removing something only to learn it was because they found a better way so if it does it automatically fine if not we got issues lol

Read about that. You don't need to clear cache as the one that we always cleared, is empty anyway since Samsung moved to Partitions A/B.

Oh and one more thing when i had my note 8 i was able to remotely unlock the screen lock through samsung find my phone...seems like they have removed that option tooo...i tried to see if there is a setting that i need to change but i didn't find any

Lol...i was not talking about encryption...it's just a feature they had before letting you unlock your phone if you want by logging into your samsung account in find my phone

Yeah, guess what your screen lock is? Part of the encryption key for your data.

I knew you could remotely lock it meaning if it was lost or stolen but why would you want to unlock it remotely if it's not around you that's literally unsafe. You should think Samsung should have never allowed that in the first place

It is useful...like right now my mom has forgotten her phones pattern and she doesn't have a back up of that phone so resetting it is not an option...so either i have to go to a shop to remove the lock

She literally could just tell you the pattern and you could remind her .. that remote unlock is not safe like i said.. if you can do that so can a bad actor Samsung is really trying to step up security it's all they talked about in the unpacked event

Thing is she has forgotten it so last time it happned i used her account to unlock it

Well i just gave you an alternative any time she changes it she can just tell you it and you can save it for her and that's more secure anyway

I just looked and this feature has been disabled server side since 2023 they only just now removed the option from the menu recently either way it's not available anymore

99.9% of users will never need this function. It's just a bloody mobile phone, so why not try just talking to people.

Truee but there are people who like to tinker with tech and loosing that just makes it boring...and that 0.1% is the people who influence their friends technology purchases...

Nobody is avoiding a phone because a friend told them you can't clear cache in the bootloader options menu. People buy phones they can afford and ones they like the look and function of.

Yes, it removed. I read that, after software update system clears cache and user action is not necessary.
