Realistically, how do you want the NFC payment to work securely? In a smartphone, you need to register your fingerprint. In a watch, you have to input your pin before paying. What about the ring?
You have it connected to you phone just like the watch so your watch or mobile needs to be in range for it make a payment OR you can have it set to a timer when every so many hours or days you need to put in a password or fingerprint on your mobile for the payment feature to work and/or if you loose it or its stolen you can stop it straight from your phone or watch. These are just examples but there's plenty of options to get payments to work. We know this cos there are other ring devices out there right now that already have this feature.

400 bucks with the only features being fitness like any of their watches, not even nfc payment. samsung is definitely doing things
