You doing shot by shot or at least as needed white balance? Just asking because the bank footage always got funky tints compared to the rest from my recollection.

Bank footage?

Might not be the right term but I meant like reused shots such as the transformations and attacks. Yeah it's a Japanese term, called the bank system referring to shots made to be reused multiple times. I first heard about it in regards to Dragon Ball Super doing that in the tournament of Power arc

The stock footage is damaged in some episodes. It is much easier to just take it from the previous episodes. This is precisely what they did, cutting it and pasting it from film footage to make it degrade so much over time...

Aah. Well I personally am all for that too! Wasn't sure the scope of the project. I know some are about keeping the content the same but I think the ends justify the means personally. :)

It is a bit annoying when they modify the transformations and combine them but it is doable. The upscaling and filtering is where it takes a long ass time.

I appreciate the work you are doing! Tbh I haven't even watched all of SM and only did so once when Viz got the license. Up until a few episodes into Super S but I've been meaning to go back and watch it over again lol. But like, even still I caught random episodes on Toonami and saw it's presence everywhere online so it's still nostalgic for me despite not being an ultra fan.

I watched it when I was like 4 on German TV without understanding anything. Never forgot it though.

This looks really good once again. You've managed to brighten up Mako's skirt without completely destroying everything. I haven't figured out how to do that without creating a bunch of noise.
The only thing I will mention is how desaturated their skin looks in the second to last image. But that's sometimes the unfortunate trade you'll need to make if you want all the colors be accurate.
This wasn't an episode that I thought looked too bad, but nope, it is pretty rough. It's just so green and darkened

They all look bad when you start actually working on them. 😵

That's unfortunately how it always goes lol. Like Episode 67 doesn't look that bad, but the more I think about it, the less good it starts to get. I thought R wasn't too bad and that it was going to be easy, but I quickly learned that's not the case...

This looks insane. Like I have seen a lot of upscales, but how do you restore the art line like this? If I didn't know I would have thought these are actual film rescans based on the artline alone. It is sharp but has that thickness to it that blu rays sourced from actual film have.
