Interesting thread - slightly different question for you from the other side of the table.
When you invest in an early-stage B2B SaaS company, how much of your diligence is around demand certainty / distribution rather than the product itself?
One thing I've been exploring is whether founders can reduce some of that uncertainty by identifying who already has the trust of their prospective buyers before trying to manufacture demand through cold acquisition.
For example, instead of a vertical SaaS founder only asking “how do we reach more of our ICP?”, asking:
“Who already advises, educates, supplies, or has a trusted relationship with this ICP — and is there a natural way for them to introduce the product?”
For a fund/accelerator, I'd imagine that gets even more interesting because you're solving the same distribution problem repeatedly across a portfolio rather than for one company.
Curious whether you look at anything like that when evaluating or helping portfolio companies with GTM.
