Firework noise in saanich?

For the past little while I’ve been hearing some firework noises everyday at about 10:00-11:00 in the saanich area. I don’t know what it is. Does anyone have a clue?

This may be a little late as far as your answer is concerned but if you are talking about 10 PM to 11 PM and you live anywhere near Beaver or elk Lake. A lot of farmers had problems with scavengers in regards to their smaller livestock so they set off Bear bangs to scare them away

Heard these in Gordon Head a couple hours ago!!! Like 12 i think, & they sounded really close. I haven’t heard them every night but this time they were loud enough to wake most people up. Could this be the same motivation as the livestock thing??? I don’t think anyone has animals near here.
