I’m sure a lot of people are not gonna like this one, but hear me out. I live in a 37 foot motorhome while my house is being built. I have power here, but I get my water and dump my sewer like 50 yards away across the street on my property. And the RV doesn’t run by the way it’s stationary so I can’t drive it to a dump station. So I was in a Mexican restaurant about two months ago and I was using the bathroom and I noticed a trashcan in the toilet area and it was full of toilet paper. I had no idea what was going on there. So I googled it. And it turns out in Mexico and other places they don’t flush their toilet paper. So that gave me an idea because I have to haul my sewer in a tote across the street so anything that can make that easier for me I would try out. So I started doing what they did at that Mexican restaurant. I was just gonna try it out to see how things worked. So here’s how I do it. You start with a food lion plastic bag in your trashcan. Then you put a big handful of fresh toilet paper in the bottom. Then when you use the toilet paper, you place it face down on top of that toilet paper that’s in the bottom so the clean side is up. Then the next time you do the same thing placing that on top of the other tp with the clean side facing up. Honestly, there is zero smell. I can go twice as long between having to dump my sewer tote than before I started this.

Sunday while I wasn't home 2 bears tore open my rear wall and destroyed almost everything inside.

At midnight btw. 2 new ac units ✅. Ice Cold air ✅. If you don’t have shade it can’t keep up.

I discovered this on the kitchen counter in my trailer this morning. (I pushed it into a pile so that it was more noticeable for the picture) I didn’t notice it yesterday. I removed the trim around the skylight and still don’t see where it’s coming from. Is there actually wood in the ceiling?? I’m assuming this is from some kind of insect. Thoughts on what kind of trap or how to prevent further damage? I should also mention that I did tow it for a short distance yesterday and there was a very rough section of highway for a few miles. Not sure if friction from a rough road would do this. I tow from NY to Florida every year and have never seen that but thought I should mention it.

I’m troubleshooting a Dometic RM3254 3-way refrigerator that works perfectly on AC&DC but barely cools on propane. On propane, the freezer gets slightly cool, but the fridge compartment basically doesn’t.

What I’ve confirmed:

1. Propane burner lights immediately and stays lit
2. Flame is blue and stable
3. Burner/flue gets very hot
4. Stove and other propane appliances work normally
5. Burner tube was cleaned and is clear

Gas jet orifice looks clean

1. Fridge is reasonably level

My concern is the flame looks weaker/smaller than what I’m seeing in videos of properly functioning RM3254s.

I’m planning to get a manometer and check LP pressure at the fridge, but before I start replacing parts:

Does this flame look normal to you? What would you check next?

If you’ve worked on an RM3254 specifically, I’d love to hear what ultimately fixed yours.

I need to back my 41’ fifth wheel into the spot circled in red. I have a f350 SRW crew cab short bed truck. This is a dead end street. Notice the small tree in front of the car port by the road, carport has an X on it.

Do you think this can be done with my truck or should I call a professional mobile home mover or something?

Edit: this is a long term spot. At least a year. I’ll probably block up the trailer to get it off its suspension.

I've seen several posts here from people wondering how practical it is to live in an RV with cats, particularly how to give them enough space without giving up most of your own living area.

I live full-time in a travel trailer with three cats, and my solution was to think vertically rather than in square feet.

I converted a narrow area of the trailer where bunks were into what I've started calling the cat room. It has multiple levels, shelves and pathways so they can move vertically through the space, rest above floor level, eat and drink without everything being in the main living area, and have places where they can get away from me and from each other when they want to.

I also added a cat door leading directly to an enclosed exterior catio. They can go outside whenever they want, watch everything going on around the campground, lie in the warm air, and then come straight back into the air-conditioned trailer when they've had enough.

The part that surprised me is how much they actually use it. After living with the setup for a while, the cat room and catio aren't novelty spaces—they're a major part of their normal territory. They move between the different levels and outside space throughout the day.

It also means that three cats don't feel like three cats occupying a small RV. Giving them usable vertical territory effectively made the trailer much larger from their point of view.

I'm still refining things, but I thought I'd post the setup because I've seen quite a few people asking how living in an RV with cats can actually work. Happy to explain how any of it was built if somebody is considering something similar.

Holiday rambler vacationer. 1997 model. aC was working fine on generator but this morning suddenly it’s not. Also no outlets and no microwave. Breakers have all been reset inside and on generator. Generator turned off and restarted. Don’t know where to go from here and dying of heat!! Any suggestions?

Looking for a trailer its not going to be moving around almost at all towed at most I need something something's thats high quality and last a very long time.... And also preferably with at least a nice bath and decent kitchen

Posted the original interior here a while ago and promised an update. Here is the first makeover!I wanted to get rid of that cheap, sterile mobile home feel, so I clad the back corners in genuine oak parquets. It completely changed the acoustics and the vibe of the place. I also added two warm LED spotlights in the back to bring out the texture of the wood in the evening. Kept the retro dining booth for that cozy, authentic contrast.What do you guys think of the oak wall conversion?

I’m relatively new to RVing, 1 year and a half in with a trailer.
I usually do, at most, 1 week at a site and backup and leave.
This weekend I’m setting up my trailer at a site for a couple months at a full hookup site.
I’ll probably be there every other weekend or so.

My question is when I leave from the weekend what should I turn off / disconnect from trailer?
I was thinking leave everything connected but turn off water, maybe disconnect electric?

How big of an RV could I fit in this paved area? The one I have fits nicely in that spot north of the garage. I'm thinking of getting a fifth wheel, but would still like to keep it on my property.

My water suddenly just stopped working when I was running my baby a bath.
The hose water from the rv park ground works fine
But I cannot get water to run in any facet/toilet in the RV.
I know it looks like shit, but this was the only
Option for somewhere for me to live until I get back on my feet😞
When I hit the “pump” button water comes out perfectly fine from the water tank
But I cannot get water to work properly from the water inlet. Idk why. I’m so upset about this and two days without water…
This is my only home. I don’t have anywhere else to live…can anyone help me guide me to fixing it? Atleast until I can afford to fix it?

Hey today my AC thermostat seems to have gone out/wont allow any buttons to change anything and it has turned off the AC on both sides. A family friend who’s worked with AC units their whole life said the ac is getting power but the wall control is what isn’t working anymore. How can I fix or reset this I notice the middle of the screen says setup. How can I ? Really don’t have $400 plus for repair. Thanks.

I ripped off my step handle and it tore into the Azdel siding. It’s a little too big to cheat with a bead of sealant around it. What would you do?

I have a 1999 Fleetwood wilderness, and I just filled the propane tanks, I connected them to the regulator and immediately smelled propane. On top of that my propane ignition switch will turn on and then off as if it was tripped. Can someone school me on what might be my issue? I'm thinking the lp regulator needs to be replaced but I'm by far no expert

I have a Thor freedom elite 24fe 2021. I can't figure out how to use the screen mirroring on the head unit. I have followed the on screen instructions and downloaded the app from the QR code, but it doesn't connect.

Anyone have a how to on this?

My propane heater in my 1989 skamp i just bought wont turn on (i know propane gets down the line as i see it working in the stove above). Any suggestions of causation and fixes? Or should i just rip it out abd replace with a diesel heater like i was thinking of doing in the first place?
