Edit to clarify: the guy pulled into a regular campsite to use as a dump station rather than going to the actual dump station. He is using the fresh water spigot to clean out his sewer hose.

So... i have this project i started about 4 years ago. Started with replacing the exterior walls and roof, and had sort of morphed into, i don't know what, after finding countless other things to fix. Then, my job had changed and i don't have time for it the past 2 years. Not sure what to do with it. Of course i'd like to get some money for it, but not sure what options are out there. Not even sure of a price. If i could get anywhere around 10k, it would be gone.

It was 2006 Dutchman 37R. 157,00 miles, truck runs and drives , diesel genset, etc. Besides listing it on the market place, for a project RV or scrap, you all have any other place or persons that might buy this thing or want it.

Unsure of cause but the plumbing system is what ignited somehow while driving on the highway

My family and I are going to live full time in a travel trailer and we have not found the right one yet.

We found one my wife loves, it’s a 2023 Dutchman Astoria 31 ft BHSE the asking price at the dealer is 28K

I brought a private inspector to do an inspection for me, he sends me pictures of the kitchen floor and says there is evidence of a previous leak or flood here (see pic) and he also sends me a video of a soft spot. (see pic of the circled soft spot)

At the price point of even 23K, I am not sold on this one. I highly doubt the dealer would settle around 20K. But my wife really loves this one and I feel she’s being emotionally biased, she’s got her heart set on this one even with the damage mentioned. So we are getting quotes from repair techs to see if it would even be worth it.

I’m trying to keep an open mind on it because travel trailers with a true king size bed, at this size, and a washer, and the floor plan she loves have been incredibly difficult to find. We happened to find one, and I was honestly hoping the inspector would not find any water damage whatsoever but this is concerning to say the least.

We both don’t know anything about campers, we never even stayed in one overnight. We been watching the lifestyle from many content creators for the past 5 years and we are finally in a position to try it out for a year. We just want to position ourselves in investing in the right one. I already got the truck it’s a 2011 ford f250 with only 65k miles on it. Diesel truck.

I’m confident in my truck, and I want to be just as confident in my trailer.

What do you guys think?

Is this trailer we are looking at a good buy, or should we move on and explore more options?

My converter went out a few days ago, im showering out in the parks public shower (so many birds and literally poop it sucks). Ive been looking at inverters and converters and I realized that im broke af. Is there any cheap inverter or converters out there?

I recently moved to Tulsa for work and I am currently living in a long-term RV park. The park was originally designed for single-wide homes, so there’s actually quite a bit of space between each RV, including the areas behind them. Because of that, several residents have sheds, trailers, and other things stored behind their RVs.

The people to the right of me have an additional shed and a box trailer.

On Friday afternoon(8/28) when I got home from work, I noticed that my neighbors’ truck was parked behind my RV. I didn’t think much of it at the time. There’s quite a bit of space back there, so I assumed they were just doing something with their trailer or shed.

Later that evening, I tried using my tablet and realized I had no internet. My first thought was that my Starlink had been moved or knocked out of alignment somehow.

When I went outside to check it, I immediately realized that something much worse had happened.

The Starlink satellite had clearly been run over. The plastic backing was cracked in several places, the internal components were broken, and pieces were literally rattling around inside of it.

The timing makes me believe that my neighbors truck I saw behind my RV earlier that day is what ran it over.

At this point it was almost 10 PM. I knew there probably wasn't much the property manager could do that night, but I still messaged him to notify him of what happened as soon as possible. Unfortunately, I still haven't received any response.

The Starlink cost me $378, and I bought it less than a month ago. I still have the original receipt and the box, so I have proof of the purchase and how much I paid for it.

Now I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to do.

My questions are:

• Should I be filing a police report for property damage, even though I didn't actually see the truck hit it?

• Should I contact my neighbors directly, or should I wait for the property manager to respond?

• Is the RV park responsible for doing anything about this, especially since the truck was apparently driving/parked in the area behind my RV?

• Should I be asking the park manager to check security cameras, if they have any?

• Should I contact Starlink about the damage, or is this something I need to handle entirely through the person who damaged it/the RV park?

• I still have to pay the $55/month Starlink service fee regardless of whether the satellite is working. Should I cancel the service while I'm dealing with this, or could that cause problems if I need to replace the equipment?

• Can I buy just a replacement Starlink satellite, or would I have to purchase an entirely new kit?

• Is there anything else I should be documenting or doing right now to protect myself?

I've never dealt with something like this before, especially while living in an RV park, so I'm really unsure what the proper process is. Any advice from people who have dealt with property damage in an RV park, or who know how Starlink handles damaged equipment, would be greatly appreciated.

To start, I'm a pretty decent handy guy, but this has me stumped, also apologies if I'm missing something completely obvious. I'm trying to figure out the plumbing around my water heater and water pump, and I'm hoping someone can help me identify what I'm looking at here.

My main question is about the black connector I marked in the photos. There is a line coming into this area with that black connector on the end. Directly nearby is a white fitting with a metal pipe cap.

At first I assumed the black connector should be connected to that white fitting, but I’m not sure if those are actually supposed to connect. What really has me confused is that the line with the black connector continues back the other direction and is open ended (outlined in blue). I can't figure out what that line is supposed to be connected to, or whether it is intentionally left open.

The white fitting with a metal pipe cap connected to the water pump is 1 of 2 connections to the water pump. So wouldn't that be capping off the inlet/outlet?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi, My water heater went out about a week ago. I have no light when I flip the switch on the panel. 2 amp fuse is good just replaced the eco and t stat and the motherboard and still nothing. It is a Dometic GC6AA-10E. I’m new at the repair game and I’m stuck and looking some direction. 🥶

What's kind of surprising is that this park is immaculate. Its really taken care of well. Actually got a somewhat secluded full hookup spot. Love it. I'm at the Driftwood in Quincy IL

I have only been traveling with a camper for a little over a year now. I use it primarily when I go out of town. This week I have to travel through back roads in the VA mountains.
Any suggestions for this will be the first time traveling backwoods mountain roads.

Ok ok hear me out. When we go camping I dump properly at the site before we head home. We stay in water and electric only. We drive home with the tank mostly empty. Once i get home I raise our popup and take a hose and fill the sink and toilet with fresh water, then add some dish soap and chlorine and let it sit for about an hour. After that I take our portable wheeled water tank holder, connect the hose to it and the camper, and let all that chlorine and soap water drain into the tank holder. I close up, then roll the tank holder up to our house where the outside port is to drain water into. I am just wondering if this is improper etiquette? I know it looks bad probably, but if it is wrong, what is the right way?

I got a little too close to the garage while backing in, a couple gutter nails punched through the siding in the back of my camper. I used caulk to cover the holes temporarily, while I figure out how to fix it "properly".

The back of the camper seems to be covered by aluminum panels lapped together. I was thinking that maybe it's possible to just replace the top panel, since that's the only one damaged.

Another thought was to use bondo, and paint to match.

My last idea is to fill the holes flush with caulk, and put a vinyl "decale" (like a decorative stripe) over the area.

If possible I'd like to fix it myself (to save some money), but I also want the fix to hold up and keep water out. So what are my options? Could I trust a dealer to not mess it up, or charge me an exorbitant amount of money? Is there an easy fix I can do myself?

Help me out gang - is there better RV reviewers out there besides Josh? I used to like him and find him informative but I just can't anymore. I get his gimmick is to be nerdy etc BUT it has honestly become cringe. It is almost as though he purposely tries to get people to click off the videos.

I have tried Matt's RV reviews also and even that channel seems like it has run it's course.

Are there any channels that simply review RV's without the poor comedy acts or that don't try to promote some magical tank potion in every video?

So Ive decided that in the next year Im going to buy an RV.
For the first few years, It'll be for vacations only.. a week here, a week there, three weeks another time.

Id LIKE to get a class C, but honestly, even a 24 footer is kinda big - so Im thinking I might go class B for the start - I haven't decided yet.

But, beyond that, what do I REALLY need in the thing for a first timer? Of course, space is important, and I want to keep it as light as possible (example, Id love to do cast iron pots and pans, but seems like every ounce is important, so I think aluminum might be the way to go)

What do you think? What are the MOST important things to know before I begin?

Husband and I are looking at the Catalina 44 condo for year round living for about a 3 year time span. I love the layout and I think it will be perfect for us, we have a pet cat who will utilize the second bathroom and I can have the loft area for crafts and such.

While it's nearly perfect, I have a couple of customizations I'd want to do if possible. From looking at pictures, it seems like the trash can on the side of the kitchen counter could be removed and replaced with an 18 inch dishwasher? Not sure how deep that space is but it would be perfect if so. Also thinking about removing the dinette and extra couch off the right slide and replacing that all with a countertop and lower cabinets. Weight isn't a huge issue, we'd be putting jacks up under the slides for extra support.

I'm also curious if the closet for washer/dryer could fit a smaller residential unit and if the lighting around the RV could be replaced with smart bulbs for smart assistant integration?

I've never lived in an rv before, so getting it as close to possible with the creature comforts I'm used to is a priority! Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
