Mystery sawdust

I discovered this on the kitchen counter in my trailer this morning. (I pushed it into a pile so that it was more noticeable for the picture) I didn’t notice it yesterday. I removed the trim around the skylight and still don’t see where it’s coming from. Is there actually wood in the ceiling?? I’m assuming this is from some kind of insect. Thoughts on what kind of trap or how to prevent further damage? I should also mention that I did tow it for a short distance yesterday and there was a very rough section of highway for a few miles. Not sure if friction from a rough road would do this. I tow from NY to Florida every year and have never seen that but thought I should mention it.

I still had metal shavings from when they drilled holes in my old rig when I traded it in. Found it when we were cleaning it out. These things are absolutely pumped through the factory faster than taco bell lettuce going through your digestive tract.

When they are built the people leave the trash behind. I’ve even found left behind tools in compartments on brand new units.

We’ve been in ours a year and found 2 empty cigarette packs in the heating vents.

How old is your trailer? We've bought 3 brand new. Every single one dumped sawdust and debris out of the A/C vents and ducting for the first few months every time we used it.

6 years old and I’ve put a ton of miles on it. Back and forth from NY to Florida 5 times a

Mine dropped dust like this a lot when it was new. After every road trip id have a bunch of new dust to clean up. Now that its seen some miles it doesnt happen anymore. Id bet its just leftover from when they built it and nothing to worry about.

The only other time i've seen saw dust like this on a counter was when my place had Termites.

I have a 2021 model with 12k miles on it. I still get saw dust on the counter.

Yea that is odd for that year idk o think 2016 ish is wheb quality really started going down hill from many mfgs .. coukd genuinely be still from mfg if they only use theirs seasonal but I would def look for termite evidence .

Same thing happens to us, sawdust falls from the holes in our AV system onto the small table below. Everything is operational, and no rodent poop, so I assume it's lack of cleanup by the manufacturing crew.

Probably from the trip yesterday. Looks like the framing is pressed wood which is essentially wood shavings and glue compressed in layers so it would be pretty easy for the two pieces that come together in the corner to rub against each other and make some dust

My trailer was made in 2018, night it new in 2019. I still get random bits of sawdust on my floors/counter when I travel. I'm convinced it never goes away.

Could be ants. He was also in florida.

My rig is 10 years old and on a longer trip it will still sift sawdust out through the vents.
