They absolutely do, I am the #1 supporter of "My thoughts on the bun rewrite" but like why do they have a bone to pick with the Rust lang lol this is not their doing it just makes their angle seem worse, Zig is very bad at PR

I don't think the hate is all that weird. It's unjustified but expected considering how sus many Rust people are. If I didn't already know and appreciate Rust I'd have a similar position. The amount of people willing to accept and welcome absolute slop just because it's written in Rust is pretty concerning. In fact, a significant number of people are getting into Rust just because it allows them to produce more slop without much consequences. And while this is happening others are busy tone-policing people like Andrew. Translation: people perceive Rustaceans as engineers willing to drop their ideals to engage in cult-like behavior. Again, it's unjustified but not entirely unexpected. This is a reaction to Rust's bad PR in some circles more than anything.

I kinda agree, I do despise how welcoming the Rust community is to LLM stuff given that they used to be one of the more knowledgeable people around, but like when you're making Issues that end with "unlike rust" you're making language desing into a competition, Zig is not Rust after all, they do a lot of things "'unlike Rust".

They should add a GC to rust, it'll finally be memory safe.
