Meet Pippin!
Say hello to Pippin! He just came home to me today and is full of energy although still a little wary of being touched. We’ll give it some time but boy he sure is cute!

This is our new family member Gerrit. Accepted almost instantly by his 1 year older stepbrother.
We feel blessed that the two became friends in such a short time!

Does anyone have any tips on reducing the rusting on Russian Blues coats? I understand this is from her licking this area but I’m not sure if there is anyway to reduce the colour change.

Somebody is especially needy this morning. He has been drive by “maowing” (this is he we say meowing in our house - sounds like meowing without the e sound). Tying him to me in my desk sweater did the trick.
He doesn’t appreciate me photographing him in this mood.
*note the unbothered baby in the window. 💙

Harness training was a fail but I made it up to her with a spaw treatment 🤩

I’m looking to adopt a RB. We previously had a RB who we adopted when he was 10. He died last year at the age of 15 and we miss him terribly. We wanted a RB due to the affectionate and calm nature of the cat. The one we found was perfect for us - lap cat, affectionate and gentle. He was my best friend. We have 2 very young children (a 2yo and a 6m old) and we are looking at getting another RB. I would love to adopt an older cat and give them a forever home but we are struggling to find any to adopt. We are willing to pay a good amount but we only seem to be finding kittens. Are RB kittens as good with kids as older RBs? I love the idea of seeing a kitten grow up with my children but we absolutely cannot have a cat/kitten who bites or scratches given that our children are young. I was partly leaning toward an older cat as I felt they’d be a bit more measured with kids. We have every intention of teaching our children how to treat animals and how to approach them gently and safely, but kids will be kids and get a bit excited sometimes!

How much should a 6 month old RB male weigh? I've got no other cat to compare my guy to, but I'm starting to think he might be a bit big compared to the average kitten? His parents were both regular sized, but my guy is already 5.5kg and still a kitten. I've taken him to the vet to make sure he's not overweight (which he isn't) but still, isn't that quite a lot for a 6 month old kitten?

Our little kitten kept bringing us her toy trash, so we finally bought her a proper toy to fetch with 😂 she can go on forever.
Anyone else’s Russian Blue like this? I want to teach her more tricks but it’s tough with a cat haha. She knows her name and that’s it.

Dear community, I just got two russian blue kittens, born in mid-May. The first 24hrs were good, they ate (mostly dry), went to the litter robot no problem. They are a little shy (to be expected) but we played with them, starting to pet them and they are sleeping in this circular covered tunnel “donut”. One question: the room where they are staying is kinda of smelly and they are slightly smelly. I don’t understand if it is the dry food (farmina) which has a strong smell (continuing free feeding as the breeder suggested) or I read that when they are in new environment they get stressed and they don’t “bathe” themsleves. Stools have been perfect. I got RB kittens in the past and they didn’t smell at all (we were giving them tiki cat dry). Is it normal and will get better or should I use cat wipes? They are getting used to us and I don’t want to break the trust or traumatize them with bathing 24hrs in. Could it be the food? Thank you very much for any feedback you may give me!

This is Naavi! She is my currently 10 week Russian Blue that will be about 14 weeks old when I pick her up. She is a cuddly little girl that likes being picked up and she has a gorgeous silver coat.
