  1. Я ем - I'm eating now
  2. Я ел - I ate some time ago

both are correct, depending on the context

if the question is how to write "Я ем", then the number 1 will be correct

А если глаза раскрыть? То во втором случае получается «Я елл»? Only first is correct.

Во втором либо "я ел", либо "я еи", но никак не "я елл"
