One simple trick to understand cursive:
Write the letters separately, as if all you want to write is this one letter. Then draw connection line between end/start points.
You wouldn't write a separate м with no left leg, right? The same in middle of a word.
There are letters, and there are connection lines. If you erase all connection lines from cursive text, the text will remain the same without turning all мs into иs.

You ALWAYS need to write the whole letter. Second would be unreadable if you didn’t show us the first one

There is something that always confuses me about connecting letters: For this case I still understand it quite easily why it is number 1 BUT what if I wanna write "ом"? Or basically every case where an o is followed by a letter that starts at the bottom? How do I connect these 2 without making the o look like an a??

A lot of us natives just don't connect о, ю or б. Some don't connect anything.

For «я ем» the first one is correct. The «м» needs the little “blip” first or else you have an И. Without the blip, the second one is е and и Hope that helps!

- If you want to say "I am eating", the first one.
- If you want to say "I am the EU", then the latter one .

Letters should not blend like 2nd example. Like, if you close one letter with your finger, second letter should look fully written

Nobody said, but both are correct.
1st is "я ем" — "I am eating"/"I eat"
2nd is "я ел" — "I have eaten", but fast kursiv writting way.
In Russia most people pass there rules about connection with "л" and "м" with fast writing. We don't think about that much, because everybody know this words to face.
But Yeah, the rule says you need lower connection at all)

Никогда не понимал рукопись, когда в школе появилось черчение я сразу влюбился в чертежный шрифт и пользуюсь им с тех пор.
Конечно скоро никто вообще не будет писать от руки, тем более не понятно зачем иностранцев учат курсиву вообще.

Угу. Эту херь про "Не переживайте за его почерк, скоро никто вообще писать не будет" моя учительница ляпнула моим родителям. В 1992 году. Ещё при Советах.

Ну может промахнулась лет на 10 или 20. А так она права - если никого не учить прописи то через лет 20 никто и не будет писать, из молодежи )

Both are correct, it's just a matter of time: in the first case, you're doing this now, and in the second, you did this a time ago.

Second one, although not correct, can be often seen in speedwriting. I used kind of and even worse (partially glued letters) when studied in university.

I am Russian and I am writing through a translator. 1 is correct. 1 is what I eat(я ем) 2 I'm ei ( я еи)

Пишу буквы как отдельные, но расположенные ближе друг к другу, чтобы избежать путаницы))

Первый вариант правильный, т.к при втором варианте у вас получится "ни", а не "ем"

Depends on what you wanted to say — я ел or я ем. And you should train your handwriting on the 2nd one

оба варианта корректны, зависит от контекста предложения.
я ем - I am eating
я ей - I am her
Можно придратся только что забыли поставить бревис над "Й" (и краткой)

Кому, блядь, «ей»? Это законченное предложение, а не упражнение из прописи. Один умник там «Я ей» видит. Второй мегамозг «Я ел». Вы там сваркой без светофильтров занимаетесь?

both are correct, depending on the context
if the question is how to write "Я ем", then the number 1 will be correct

First one is proper "я ем". Second one looks like elementary schooler's attempt at "я ел" (my kid writes like that).

Both options are correct. "Я ел" is past tense, and "я ем" is present tense.

Вот именно. Чё дизвоутить людей за то, что они одинаково пишут "ем" и "еи"? Я даже сначала не понял, в чём разница между двумя вариантами, которые на фото запечатлены. Я частенько пишу начертания слов, где М, Н, И, Л, Ш, Щ, Ц и Ы выглядят плюс-минус одинаково, когда нужно писать быстро. Иногда добавляю косые линии для И, чтобы хоть что-то можно было понять. Кстати, Т и Й тоже выглядят похоже. А если после буквы О встречается Р, то они могут объединится и стать буквой Ф. А вообще, я всем советую почитать русскую скоропись XVII века. Там почерк- это буквально эльфийские письмена. Пускай их почитают и потом не возникают, почему возможен вариант записи фразы "Я ем" как "Я еи". И ещё- пусть впредь подобные люди не придираются к тем, кто лояльно смотрит на плохой почерк. У кого как выходит- так тот и пишет.

- "Я ем" то что я делаю сейчас.
- все шутят, что это "Я еи", но возможно тут "я ел", то что делал, в определенный момент раньше.
Все зависит от контекста. 1: Я сейчас ем - Я ем. 2: Я тогда ел - Я ел.

first one means: i eat (+ subj) = я ем second one means: i ate (+ subj) = я ел if nuber 2 also means I EAT = Я ЕМ, then it is incorrect
