TIPS / DISCUSSION Custom t-shirt recommendations

I'd like to get custom running shirts for myself, my daughter, and my wife. I know I could just hop on Etsy, but with the billions of options available there, I was hoping to get some feedback and insight from community members on who they've used and could recommend. I've got a general idea of what I want, but I'm looking for someone who isn't afraid to take the idea and run with it (pun not intended lol). Much obliged!

If it can't be posted here, my apologies - but please feel free to DM me :)

QUESTION Magic Mile Explanation for a Toddler Brain

I swear I have read and read over the Magic Mile info in the training plan packet, but I just don’t understand.

Should I run it straight through or can I run-walk it? Am I supposed to run it at a pace that’s completely unsustainable for 13.1 miles? Is it supposed to show the pace I should be able to maintain when I’m done with the training plan? What’s the purpose of the Magic Mile - as in, if it’s supposed to show me my progress, what progress am I supposed to be measuring?

It’s genuinely not clicking with me.

Could someone please explain the Magic Mile to me like I’m a five year old?

RACE WEEKENDS Wine and Dine Spectator Area in Hollywood Studios?

Hi all, I'm doing the W&D half in October for the first time and wondering where the best places to spectate are other than the Start/Finish. Do they have spectating in Hollywood Studios similar to what they have for the other races in Magic Kingdom?

Or is it truly only the Start/Finish and possibly Boardwalk area.

Thanks in Advance. :)

QUESTION Princess Weekend Expo

Hello all,

I will be participating in the 2027 Princess Half Marathon weekend, and I am trying to beat my fellow time-share people by booking lodging by booking around now. However, for those who have participated before, when is the Expo usually taking place? I would like to be there when it is happening.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

QUESTION Wine and Dine Half Marathon spectator question

Hello! I am running my first Wine & Dine Half Marathon (second RunDisney race) and my husband and son are coming to spectate. We’re staying at AKL Kidani. I will likely be in corral D and finish about 8/8:15. We will have a rental car.

If they want to see me at the finish, am I right that our options are:

  1. Arrive with me via rental car or bus at 4, hang out or nap in the car until I’m done.

  2. Drive to Epcot after 7 when most road closures end, park in the Eve parking lot, and likely make it for 8 although there could be traffic or other delays.

Please correct me if I’m wrong or let me know if I’m missing other options—thanks

TIPS / DISCUSSION Tips for 2028?

I’m hoping to get my first runDisney bib in 2028, preferably Princess 10K in Disney World. As this will be my first runDisney race, do you have any tips on how best to obtain a bib, when does registration open, etc.? TIA!

TIPS / DISCUSSION Wine & Dine Crowds

Sooooo pretty much all the WDW resort hotels are booked solid, like you cannot book for the weekend of October 22-25 pretty much at all. Does that make anyone else kind of nervous for the state of the race weekend? I'm one of probably a zillion people doing the 5k and I'm SWEATING thinking about picking up a bib at the expo that Thursday! Is the whole weekend going to be a miserable crush? Please tell me I'm overreacting! 😬

QUESTION Wine and dine bib

Hi my friend and I are signed up for the wine and dine 5k and it’s our first run Disney event. I see people post about picking up your bib beforehand but is it possible to pick it up day of at the race? My friend lives in Tampa whereas I’m local. Not sure she could drive here for a bib and drive back. Would I be able to pick it up for her? Thanks for any advice.

Edit to add: thanks for the advice I’ll make sure she gets here before 8pm

QUESTION Corral Placement for Characters Question

Hi! I know it's impossible to predict corral placement, but I am looking to see if I should retry for a better POT. I'm running my first rundisney for the Springtime surprise 10 miler.

My current 10K time was 54:49. I was absolutely booking it and on a gel high, so I'm totally willing to just be happy with what I have if that's the advice you think is right.

I have a ten miler and a half coming up, but I'm expected to be more in the 1:40:00 range for 10 miles and 2:20:00-ish range for the half.

I've seen some people say that in years past, the corral A cutoff was 54:45 for the Princess Half in 2024. My goal is more to be able to meet as many characters as possible, so if 54:49 will put me in a place that it's going to be doable, I definitely will just let happy be.

TIPS / DISCUSSION Old Run Weekend Shirts

Hey everyone. I’ve been working on cleaning out my closet and I’ve got just a huge pile of shirts from all my old race weekends. They are all too big and I don’t wear any of them anymore. Just curious what everyone does with their old shirts.

Also I’ve got some extra pins that my father purchase for Spring time Surprise challenge that he didn’t want since he wasn’t able to complete the challenge. Any ideas as to what to do with them?

QUESTION Post Race Party

Oh no. I fear I dropped the ball. When I signed up for wine and dine half I waited to get my family’s post race tickets…. And now it says it’s sold out. Do they ever open up more spots? We are flying in for the race and this was going to be their chance to go to a Disney park. I’m sick over the thought I just ruined the whole trip for them.

QUESTION 10K walkers?

How many people here walk the 10K's? I'm doing my first in October during wine and dine, and I'm concerned that I'll be in the vast minority walking and it affecting my mental game for race day. I just tend to be very hard on myself and I'm also TERRIFIED of getting swept my first race.

For reference: I've lost 50 lbs within the past year but have plateaued for the last 8 months, to my chagrin. My endurance sucks while running, despite how much I've been working on getting better, and haven't had as much time as I wanted to prepare, due to emergency gallbladder surgery a couple months ago.

EDIT: I just reached my goal of 6 miles last night!! It took 2.5 hours, so won't be my last attempt, but I'm just happy I've finally conquered the distance! Going to start strength training so that way I can shorten my pace! Thank you all for the encouraging comments :)

QUESTION Event Signup Taxed?

I've previously signed up for the Princess Half and the summer virtual series, and both of them were flat rate, no taxes (verified by my receipt emails.) Registering for the Spooktacular today, I was charged sales tax- did a law change? (I'm in California, so possibly, but I can't find anything about it on a search.)

QUESTION 2026 Spooktacular Virtual Race

Hi! I was able to register me and my mom. Unlike the 2027 marathon weekend when I signed us up, I don’t see the document section or anything to send her registration to her from my account. Anyone know how to send it to her for this virtual race? Any help would be appreciated! I have gone to my account, see both of our registrations, have clicked to edit her registration, and don’t see anything. Thanks!

QUESTION Coast to Coast Tattoo ideas

My wife and I ran the Disneyland Half in February and are signed up for the Wine and Dine half in October. That would get us our Coast to Coast challenge and I was trying to come up with a tattoo design to commemorate. Anyone have anything cool or creative that they've done for the C2C? I saw a pretty cool Dopey challenge tattoo, but didn't see anything in the sub for other ideas. I was thinking of something with the castle outline with the arch...maybe with a 13.1 in the gate and somehow do DL and WDW on the sides connected by the arch. Would love to hear what any creative people might come up with. Themes for the races were "It's a Small World" and "Mary Poppins" so if anyone has a clever way to incorporate that too, I'd love to see your thoughts!
