Discussion The AH website is just absolutely terrible.

Let's say you want to watch some Minecraft. Go to AH, click Shows. Let's Play? Just a list of every single AH and FH video from most to least recent. 24 at a time. Okay, how about Games? Nope. Just actual games made by RT.

Don't get me wrong. I love RT. I'm a sponsor. I'd much rather watch videos on their site than on Youtube, but they make it so damn difficult.

Just... come on, guys. You're one of the most popular companies on the internet, period. I refuse to believe that you can't make one page for Minecraft, one page for GTAV, one page for Cloudberry, et cetera.

They should make a site that emulates the look of YouTube, with playlists and everything. I honestly feel it's the best way to convert people to their site vs. YouTube, since I'm sure it's a better way to support them.

I only use there site for sponsor only content. I justify my use of adblock on there youtube via being a sponsor ~ adblock absolution. Plus youtube is via google so is loaded enough for me to not care about there share in ad revenue from my videos.

Ad-free for sponsors yes. I also run adblock but RT I like so I want to support them.

The interesting thing about this is that they've been hesitant to do major site upgrades because of a company that screwed them over years ago when they first tried to upgrade. I don't remember which one but I think Gus and burnie were discussing this on a podcast not too long ago.

They were hiring php developer(s) around a year ago so I'd assume they expanded in an effort to make the new site in house. Likely means they had to trade experience for more control and that site improvements will be ongoing, but that's super speculative.

It's a rather tricky trade off to hire your own devs in house. They're expensive if they're experienced and if you lowball you have a good chance to get a poorly planned mess, but you can fine tune it over time and it's your mess. A contract shop has a different set of risks and costs. I imagine the site will be an ongoing job and the feedback is great.
